Hollyoaks character Max Cunningham is apparently killed off on his wedding day.
The Channel 4 soap's loveable lad - played by Matt Littler - is set to tie the knot with Steph Dean (Carley Stenson) later this month, but according to the Daily Star his big day is his last.
Apparently the excitement of the wedding sparks Max's heart condition and he is taken to hospital even before the ceremony begins. But it seems bad boy Niall Rafferty (Barry Sloane), who is in love with Steph, is arrested over the death.
A Hollyoaks insider told the newspaper: "Does Max's heart give out so he dies of natural causes or does Mr Evil strike again - and Niall makes sure that if he can't have Steph, no-one can? Fans are just going to have to tune in and watch the drama unfold."
Max almost fails to make it to the church after his best mate OB (Darren Jefferies) returns and tries to persuade him to run away to New York for a life of adventure.
But Max realises he loves Steph and is ready to settle down, only to be stuck ill before they can exchange vows.
Poor Steph is left shocked when she realises she will have to look after Max's little brother Tom.
Matt apparently said: "I feel I have grown up on Hollyoaks over the past 11 years. I am not only leaving behind friends - but also family."
