totally agree with this, it should have been the mcdean storyline or the anorexia story line the steph and max storyline didnt come close, i watched both and to be honest am just confused how it could have beaten the HO storylines

Im not sure this should have won IMO, i liked it but i thought the anorexia was better done. Anyway im not going to complain because Stax was entertaining enough with good acting so well done to them.

Well I am glad the McDean one didn't win best storyline, because that was so boring, pointless, dragged on forever and a day, acted out by two boring characters and overatted actors, it dragged on more so then the Stacey/Max one. At least with that at the end it was great to watch, the acting, Tanya slapping Stacey (bloody good slap it was as well lol) Like I said, I think the Stacey/Max one won because of the acting, everyone involved in it acted their socks of and made it so believeable. Hannah's storyline woud defo be my second choice, but only one can win, and that was EE, like I said HO can't win everything, and really you should be happy they even on 6 awards, because that might not happen next year.

Hmm you remind me of Toni form DS i bet that it is you  . I agree with you on the whole i thought Jake,Lacey,Charlie and Jo are all great actors. Im indifferent to McDean neither loved nor hated it but if it had won i wouldn't be kicking up a fuss.

I read somewhere they slept together on Christmas day 2006.... That's a whole year. The mcdean affair lasted only 4 months.

emma should have won that award dont get em wrong i am glad ho won all the awards that they did but emmas storyline had a better message nad also people could leanr and benefit more from it than an affair which happens all the tim and everyone knows about it but not many people know the true danger of bulimia/anorexia

I agree. However, I gather the Max/Stacey affair was quite popular with the EE fans. Emma won best actress, which I'd rather she won out of the two. The storyline was amazing, but winning best actress is more of a compliment because that's her own work. The storyline's etc are from the creators.

i know that but i truley thought she eserved the both to be honest nad im not trying to slag of ee here but the max and stacey storyline 2 me was just a typical affair that happens so often and it was predictable what was going to happen as soon as lauren had seen them both together but but hopefully now that hollyoaks walked away with most of the awards they will attract even more viewers and make their way onto the front cover of the tv mags as there never on the front cover its it always ee or coranation street which isnt fair

Oh yeah I know who you are know hello By the way, when everyone found out about the Stacey/Max affair, the way they found out had never been done before in soap, thas why the acting was brilliantly, their facual expressions were so believeable and reastic, just watching made you want to look away.

Oh I'd have been twice as thrilled had she won both. She would have deserved them aswell. As for being on the front of TV mags.. Unfortunately, I dont think Hollyoaks will ever be as big as Corrie or EE in that stakes. I can't imagine them being the main feature. But they have slowly started making their way onto the front.

wel they did pick up more awards than any of them this year and i think thye where nominated for more than any of them last year i think thye were up for 11 awards alast year not sure though they should make thier way onto the front though as that is what the show needs more publicity as i didnt have a clue what hollyoaks was until the becca and justin stoyline nad fom the first ep i wathed of it i got hooked and now i regret not watching it a lot sooner as i can go for weeks without watchin ee or coranation street and when i watch it again its like i havent missed anything as the writers are so predictable and they just copy each other where hollyoaks use thier own ideas and cover storys others dont

The Max/ Stacy thing started the night after she split up with his son! I can't remember his name but he broke it off with her and started to date someone who he worked with. I thought that happened end of 2006 beginning 2007 and hasn't it just ended in Jan 2008. I think they SL started great, but after a few months became very boring.
The best British soap 2008 goes to H♀LLY ♂AKS! IMO!!
It’s about time Oaks got the recognition it truly deserves.

yer i think your right it went on for adges too long i missed weeks of it and when i put it on it was still the same sl it was liek a never ending story and in a way they have still been going on about ti until tania burried max alive to me shows they dont have a lot of imagination and thats why they keep one story going for so long unlike ho

I'll admit, I did happen to put EE on christmas day [Or Boxing day, I cant remember] and I did say I though Jo was fantastic in those episodes. If she's like that in all her scenes, then her winning best dramatic performance was well deserved. But that episode was the last time I recall even catching a glimpse of EE.

nah shes not like tha tin all her performances ee was on in my house over xmas as my mom loves it but she prefers ho now and hates it when she misses an ep im getting my whole family to watch ho rather than the other soap as we dont watch emerdale at all in my house now which is fab as ho is on first look

^ My mom loves eastenders but she's addicted to hollyoaks now, I record it for her on sky+ because she hates missing it. My dad even likes hollyoaks and he absolutely hates soaps, whenever emmerdale or coronation street comes on because my mom likes watching them he goes says "Oh I'm not watching this rubbish, I'm going for a shower" but whenever hollyoaks is on he sits down and watches the full episode with me lol, I find it quite amusing.

My Mum despises Eastenders. She doesn't watch Corrie either. I've known her tune into Emmerdale every now and then. And she asks many many questions about Hollyoaks and has been known to sit and watch a few episodes of late. Bless her.
