i think he deserved to win as he has acted really good and he is talented and also he hasnt had a huge storyline so shows that he doesnt have to have a huge storyline to win best actor like many other actors and aswel when the sean storyline started and he had to help warren hide the body he done that really well and i also dont think that it had anything to do with him being on dancing on ice to win the award as dancing on ice hasnt showed his acting ability just showed his skating ability btu maybe a few more people now wathc hollyokas as not many people know about or they think its just a teenage soap but it isnt

Chris is a very good actor, arguably he should have won this award a few years ago for the Justin/Becca stuff. But you know what they say good things come to those who wait.

Chris has made the top 4 in the best actor category for the last few years, so it didn't really come out of nowhere.

Also we all should be happy that someone who can actually act won it this year especially after the Antony Cotton fiasco last year.

I can totally see why people think the award may have been slightly more deserved a year or 2 ago when Chris was at the peak with Justin. During the whole Becca thing particularly, but it's hardly like he's a bad actor.

The fact that he hasn't been on screen much is down to the writers and the producers, not Chris himself. The voting was done by the PUBLIC, not Chris himself. I'm sure he'll understand people's confusion over it, but quite a few comments I've seen - more so on other forums - have just been plain nasty. The way some people go on, you'd think he was a bad actor!

And for all those that don't think Chris deserved it, just keep remdining yourselves that Antony Cotton won it last year..... surely Chris is deserving compared to that.

He is a good actor and I loved the whole Justin and Becca storyline

Though i voted for James im glad Chris won it. He has done some great stories this past year. Has everyone forgotten about the fact he was the one who pushed claire and the episodes where there was the gas leak in the halls. His acting in both of those was equally as good as when he was doing the Becca/Justin story line.

Hollyoaks got 6 awards, dont care who won them, im over the moon that they did get them

Well done to Chris for winning and helping to give HO its best ever soap awards. He's an underrated actor and people are making out like this win came from nowhere when in previous years he's made top 4 in both the best actor and sexiest male prizes so people have always considered him worthy of their votes. Those who are complaning are just miffed that their favourite didn't win but they will get over it and come next year they will be cheering their favourites again.

I could understand the backlash had the panel decided, but I do wish the public that are slagging him off would remember it's the public that voted for him. He's obviously been doing something right.

Even if the voters favoured him for his DOI performance, they still voted for him. Nobody forced them to not vote for the other so called better actors.

The PUBLIC are the ones that got him that award. Maybe they need to ask why more people didn;t vote for their favourites, rather than why they did vote for someone. Obviously the other nominees just weren't as popular this year.

Yep the public won him the award so anyone claiming fix or whatever needs to put their dummy back in. It seems to me like whatever way they decide the winners of awards, people will always find a way to complain.

and i have said that in other posts in the page 1 of this tread, im not saying he is a rubbish actor but just that he was not the best actor this year

What makes me laugh is that people don't seem to realise that some that voted for him may only watch Hollyoaks. Like me. And don't watch the others. Therefore they woul vote for a Hollyoaks actor and they voted for Chris because they feel he's he best from the 3 nominees put forward in Hollyoaks' favour. Can anyone remember who the other 2 were? Was it James and Ricky? Or Jamie? I can' remember, but I do remember seeing the 3 and thinking that Chris was definately the best out of them. Yes, maybe an EE/Corrie etc star is better on the whole, but why would I vote for them if I don't watch the show? Hollyoaks is all I watch. Chris was the best from the Hollyoaks nominees imo, so I voted for him. Same as many others probably. End of.
