Nothing personal or anything, but was anyone as surprised at me at his winning the Best Actor award. He is far from the best actor in soap (or TV for that matter). He has also not been involved in any major storylines this year (and by that I mean any storyline that is focused on him specifically).

Emma deserved her award 100% with the whole eating disorder storyline which was well written and extremely moving.

With Chris I cannot help but feel it was an award for blandness.

i wasnt suprised eh won at all i was so pleased when i ound out he won and his reaction was so cute he was a bit speachless and all the doi stars where congratulating him

I like how people start with "nothing personal" because you just know what they say will be personal. An award for blandness are you blind or what? Chris won fair and square because he got votes so get over it!!!

But yes, this is being discussed in a few other threads. No you're noth the only who didn't think he deserved it. I did. Not everyone agrees. But he did win. Not much you can do about it now.

Chris has been one of the most popular actors in Hollyoaks for the last few years and has made the top four in the best actor caterogy for the last few years now.

Also you have to remember just because you find him bland doesn't make everyone else does personally speaking I think that he's one of the best actors currently in Hollyoaks.

just wondering now why is it only chris people are complaigning about people arent complaignign about roxanne winning sexiest female she dosnt have to act to win that but chris is getting negatie comments when te public thought he was the best

Exactly. I think a lot of people - Particularly the fans of the other soaps - are having trouble digesting that Hollyoaks actually managed to walk away with best actor and actress, because we all know nobody expected it.

I also find it quite funny that this seems to have caused more uproar than AC winning last year, which is just plain funny, because Chris is better than AC. YEY FOR CHRIS! HE WON!!! :P

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's caused the same uproar as AC did. It seems to me like it's 10 or so bitter people that their fav didn't win. Clearly the haters are in the minority otherwise Chris would not have gained so many votes.

wel its annyoing me now people are saying he didnt deserve to win i bet half of the people never even oted for their fav anyway so why make such a fuss about it i didnt ote for chris as much as i hate to say it but i didnt know the dates when we were suppose to vote but i did vote 4 times 4 ho to win best soap

My opinion is that this award has been a long time coming for Chris! He deserves the recognition and I am really pleased he won. He is a fantastic young actor, and very talented.

And to the people saying "yeah but he hasn't had a major storyline" - well, doesn't that make the win sweeter? He is talented enough to win without even being in a major storyline! (Even though I would argue the moving of Sean's body was major and fantastically done be Chris, I still remember the shower scene at the end where he was crying - heartbreaking)

Oh I don't know. I think I've come across more bitterness towards Chris than I have good things. Maybe that's just me being paranoid and protective though. lol.

What's even funnier is that some of the voters that voted for Chris would surely have also voted for EE as best soap? Because if all the Chris/Emma voters voted Oaks as best soap, Oaks would have won. That's what confuses me. lol.

I voted for Chris and Emma and eastenders best for soap.

I voted Eastenders because I didn't want Corrie to win.

Which is the other forum you are talking about out of interest? As i have said before you cant please everyone all of the time so some were always going to complain. The people i have seen on DS and here complaining are some of the same people just with accounts on both forums. There's also the fact that these individuals would find a way to slate Chris whether he'd won or not, its basically jealousy from guys or irritation from others that their favourite didn't win.

Personally i dont think Chris should even have been nominated this year the third actor after james and jamie should have been Andy Moss or Kevin Sacre that said Chris should probobaly have won previously so things have levelled themselves out.

Am not suprised Chris is a great actor and his storyline with Becca was exceptional. yes he has been a little quieter this year but with his scenes with Warren and the seans murder you could see his tallent

so it has meant DOI to bring his attention to the mass public. But thats it HO doesnt do PR well not to the extent of the other older soap and that usually its downfall.. its not good just being brilliant but you have to let people know and if you notice those awards for HO have been mainly for people in the limelight which complements there tallent. (bar Emma who just shine naturally) this doesnt make there win any less worthy it just shows that HO needs to do more PR.

you have the annorexia and mcdean story being praised by the Times, Gaurdian and Slatewell awards and when and if the actors behind it want to be more in the public eye, am sure they will get the public recognition they so rightly deserve also

i totally agree tbh i dont think emma deserved her award either one storyline dont make you a good actress does it i mean part from the annorexia storyline what else has she done to be best actress.

yes but it shows that unlike others here and chris dont need to hae huge storyline to win best actor/actress and its theire acting ability overall that made them win and also it was the public who voted i think they both deserved to win and im glad they did

diffrences is he aint done nothing had he even had a little sorylie fair enough but he aint really done nothing. now warren would have deserved it more
