When in this thread did I state "Yes, I really find siblings romantically involved arousing." I didnt.
Im just saying, I personally have never have thoughts regarding incest, nor know anybody that has. We are in a society that highly condemns it and I feel it would be interesting to see how a director could challenge my views.
Perhaps you should try and broaden your views rather then judge people/make assumptions so easily.
Its one of those "Forbidden love" storylines. Society condemned homosexuality, and so many people were forced to repress urges they had no control over. Yes, the idea of incest does repulse me, but Im not going to completely reject/judge someone whos struggling with feelings they cant act on. Imagine how it would feel to love someone so much but you cant because if people were to find out, you'd be rejected from society. It must be horrible. Its like they say, people cant help who they fall in love with. Luckily we dont have to go through that though
the only semi-incest couple I didn't mind was Max and Mandy. I actually felt bad for Max when he discovered his love wasn't mutual!
i voted for sonny and sasha for 2 reasons, one being the off-screen chemistry might come on-screen and the other being i really find this family boring so something like this might just liven things up slightly

IF YOU LOOK I SAID DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS!! i have ery strong opinions about EVERYTHING! i am very passionate about everything i beleive in...and i DO NOT agree with incest. im sorry...i just dont....
I think incest is wrong too. But I love having my view challenged and am willing to LISTEN to an alternative opinion. It appears however, that you are not.
P.S. The only reason you dont agree with incest is because you have been socialised to disagree with it, just like I have and just like the rest of the forum members have on here.
nah thats not the reason. most of my friends dont agree with gay people...yet i think its perfectly fine. i hae no problem with gay people. incest is a different issue though...i think its discusting and i cant imagone anyone falling in luv with brothers or sisters. 2nd cousins aint that bad but...... i no my caps lock is working thats y i put it on.
Ah but if you think about it. All of your values/beliefs (and everybody who had a similar upbringing to us) come from religion/the government/education and other factors of our society. We're socialised to do everything we do today. You're socalised to say "Bless you" when somebody sneezes, you're socialised to have manners, you're socialised to praise certain behaviour and you're socialised to condemn other behaviour. Sorry to go all Sociology geek-chic on you! Its interesting stuff!
i dont agree. we get bought up with manners....we dont get socialised. if someone had parents that didnt teach them manners..or to say bless you or pardon me then they wouldnt do it...until around school time...
lushas im actually enjoying having a debate with you lol.....and i suppose it is kinda interesting lol
Being brought up to do "stuff" is what socialism is. Your parents play a key role in socialising you so you fit in with society. They teach you to conform rather than run around naked and wild!
im not saying it would happen right...but what if someones mum didnt tell them to wear clothes and they ran around naked...or if they didnt tell them to use the toilet and they just went wherever they were and wherever they needed it...thats the way that person gets bought up...yet its not socialising
Yeah, but its a subconsious thing, for instance, in the days of black slavery, children were probably socialised/brought up to think that was absolutely fine but now compare that to todays generation. Children are brought up/socialised/taught in schools that that sort of behaviour is wrong. I for one think that any discrimination based on appearance is completely wrong. Being socialised is not necessarily a bad thing. If we didnt have "rules" then there would be mayhem. We all have to stick to some sort of guidelines in life, and thats what is subconsiously taught to generations.
well...there is something we agree on... i totally beleive rules are right...and we should have guidelines...but only to a certain extent. things are getting out of hand with rules these days. thers new laws eery year...we shud b able to keep sum sort of human rights.
That is just way too wrong. Maybe if they brought in some new characters that didn't know they were brother and sister but not with any of the characters that are on it just now.
