I'm one of the nominators for the Beckton Alp site... Stacy and I are working with our curator David A. Bailey to prepare the artist's brief so that hopefully we can select an artist sometime in October.

Main criterion - it's got to be BIG!

We've drawn up the shortlist ready for next week's selection panel.

Hmmm... I think we decided on an artist, but I'm not sure.

Silly me! We haven't decided on an artist at all. Another day off work, another big meeting with lots of clever people, all being filmed, but no, it wasn't the real artist selection panel.

well I live in east London, so I hope the art project will be interesting, even subversive. I find alot of public sculpture has no interest, I like richard Serra. I fear it will be something not particularly sophisticated, more populist for now but won't age well. Hopefully I will be proved wrong.
