I just watched this and was wondering what people's opinion was?

I thought it was a bit naive maybe, if you're presenting a show about gaming you should have people who are more confident about games knowledge on.

What I found most annoying was the obsession that TV has with consoles rearing its ugly head again, especially since when examining the history of video games the PC was virtually ignored, even though Doom and Quake are two of the biggest milestones in gaming technology, as well as the apparent ignorance of games such as WoW which have led to phenomenons such as the first online funeral.

While there was coverage of the WSVG there was no mention of the fact that 80% of the games played there are PC games, or any mention of e-sports in the future of gaming Smile

I also took exception to the ridiculous fact that the only polled people were Sun readers in the people's choice award. I feel quite insulted that The Academy is stupid enough to not pass the poll around GAMING magazines of which there are many in circulation, and at least more papers than just the Sun. I don't want to class readers of the paper as I used to read it when I was 16 quite a bit, but I can't think of any friends I know who play games, who would even consider playing the 24 game on their mobile.

My 2c.

I watched little bits and pieces of it, was channel surfing at the time. It was actually quite boring...plus it seemed a thoroughly low key affair.

Where's all the RAZMATAZZ???? Big Grin

I was excited at the idea of video games and gamers getting a little bit of recognition when I heard this was going to be on. I thought "Hoorah, a night of geekery and lots of n3rds awarding things to this years greatests platformers, RPGs, FPS and the lot!!!" but everyone who was involved in this didn't seem to know a single THING about the gaming community - I mean jesus, it was hosted by Vernon Kay ¬_¬!! Just watching the first 5minutes of it made me want to scratch my eyes out as I saw any justice the gaming world had go down in a flaming heap of crapness -___-;.

Sorry, I felt passionate about it Frown
