No, but I've heard it's a lot of effort to set up and get going. You'll have loads of problems getting it working and then get really disappointed with the results.
I've also heard that the live, real-time chatting / abuse that goes on between players is generally around the level of a thirteen year old chav.
Don't forget you could simply entice thirteen year old chavs round your house with alcopops and play multi-player games without any problems.
Yes, there are a huge number of people (13-year old chavs) that are insulting and obnoxious on their, which is why I do not play against people that I do not know. I just play with friends, in which co-op is a lot more fun.
It didn't take me long to get set up, I just used a wireless connectivity adaptor, sorted.
X-Box Live is most probably better than what the PS3 Online facilities will be. One thing that the sony network will have over any of the other networks. The main reason for this is that you can buy with your own money special PS3 credits that you can use to buy game downloads and such like.
The only problem that i will be willing to think of is that of the ease of use that the Live of the X-Box has been re nound for wilol probably be way better than that of the PS3 which will be overly complicated.

The use of 'probably's in there means that most of it is guesswork bordering on fanboyism.
