played the ps3 yesterday.anybody from edinburgh should go into cex on rose street and have a go.the game was conflict a first person shooter set in ww2 but strangely enough the battlefield is swarming with aliens.it plays a lot like a souped up version of black and was on an hdtv but to be honest doesn't look much better than anything i've played on the 360.too early to say what the machine's capable of so i'm sticking to nintendo.bring on the wii!!!!!

I for one can't wait!! I had a PS1, PS2 and enjoyed both - A LOT! I have faith that the PS3 will be the best of the bunch of next gens.

Having said that, I think the wii is a different thing altogether. With it's innovative control I think it will add a new dimension to gaming. I can see my household being a two console house... Ninja

The PS3 was delaid for Europe for the reason that the RSX Chip was going to be a modefied version of those in Japan and Americas PS3's. This meant that the allready streched sony had no where near enough resources and time to produce the console for our shores aswell.

I myself have put the full amount down on the console confident that it WILL NOT BREAK and be the best next gen games console. The Wii was a bit of a disapointment to myself as i was hoping that nintendo would really have a good go at microsft and sony but i think they have left it to late.

But the Wii is just about pure gaming. Where as the ps3 and 360 have gone with the more 'all aspects' of media. All credit to Nintendo I say, for not following 'the trend'.

I would agree on that point. I just dont think that that controller of thiers will work properly. bring back the old one i say Smile

Big Grin I do have my doubts over the controller, I must say. It looks like you'll need loads of room to use it for most games. Also most people just want to sit down and play a game, not be swinging their arm around for however long they are playing Big Grin

Well according to my sources the controller will only be using its motion sensing tech on specified games....even so it can be switched on and off like you would the analouge sticks.

Didnt Sony steal Nintendos idea of a wireless motion sensing with their Wii remote where you can swing it like a golf stick and hit it like a tennis racket? The Sony sensor on their remote cant do anything like these but you can point it to the screen to whereever you want it to go.
I rather go for the new invention, thnak you, because you can actually get off your seat and swing the wii remote

Nah it was the other way round. Nintendo stole the idea but just didnt take it to the extreme that sony have done. There controller is more acurrate and more reliable. in all my time playing the ps and ps2 i have only broken one controller. And that took some effortBig Grin

Not true. It was delayed because of a shortage of the blue diodes used in the bluray.

The controller works really well, i have a ps3 at work.

Yeah thats what they said but i think from my sources at sony have told me that when the rsx chip is pressed out it is done on a piece of silicone but only three out of te 10 chips are worth keeping.

The Blue diodes are a scam. Because they are manafactuered in house they can say that they are the problem and not fall out with the other companies that do the RSX. L:ike what happened with the controller fiasco.

I am definetly going to buy a PS3 when it comes out.

Games Looking forward too.. Metal Gear Solid 4

That will be awesome, hopefully COD 3 will be good aswell although it does look much better on the 360, while being a bit linear, plot-wise.




A Little Hard Work never killed anyone....but why take the chance?

Think the best shooter to come out will be Brothers in arms. Or maybe Killzone if they get round to making it.
