Paperboy on Spectrum. Games were soooo hard back then, 100+ levels etc. I was in Toys R us the other day getting flashbacks of seeing all those C64 and Spectrum tapes hanging up. That's right, games used to come on tapes.

Space Invaders was my first gaming experience. Closely followed by Asteroids, Defenders, Galaxian and Donkey Kong. Other memorable arcade games were Gauntlet, Afterburner, 1942, Outrun, Sega Rally and Double Dragon. quote: Originally posted by Games Ed: 2006 is the year of the first Video Game Baftas, which will be shown on E4 on 17 October. Whether it was playing Pac Man in your local fish and chip shop, or maybe even recently, when you decided to have just one go at Mario Kart DS and just couldn't put it down, let us know.

Yes they did! Kids these days dont know hpow lucky they are. Try waiting 2-3 mins hoping your game loaded. If you moved an inch, while it was loading you could jeopardise the whole thing!
Paperboy was class. Gauntlet was best game on Spectrum. Oh anyone play Wizball on Commodore 64? That was class 2. Micropose Soccer, Barbarian, Last Ninja 1, 2 and I think 3? Its all coming back now!!

playing monkey island 1 on the amiga 1200
------------------------------------------------- My monkey plays chess. Your monkey plays chess? He must be clever! Not really, I usually beat him three times out of four!

April 2007 is the 25th anniversary of the launch of the machine that really started the revolution in the UK - the ZX Spectrum. It's funny as it was never designed as a games machine, but that's what it became for ten years or so.
me too. I remember playing a really crap game on the speccy called viper 3 and getting really excited if i got onto the high score board.
