2006 is the year of the first Video Game Baftas, which will be shown on E4 on 17 October. We want you to tell us about your first video game experience, and your comments may appear on the show.
Whether it was playing Pac Man in your local fish and chip shop, or maybe even recently, when you decided to have just one go at Mario Kart DS and just couldn't put it down, let us know.
hmm, i think mine was a little handheld Space Invaders game...you could play against the 'computer' or 2 player, one player controlling the INVADERS. Still got it, still rocks!
I also fondly remember an Indian Jones game on the atari, damn those tetse flies were difficult to shake...pretty difficult game if i recall....anyways...
Two table top games I got for Xmas, we were fighting The Falklands War so that must have been 1981? I had to keep switching them off so others could hear the news on the telly.
I THINK it was sonic the hedgehog 2 on sega megadrive.......or could have been Super Mario on the NES.......or could have been this game(cant remember what it was called) on the Atari.
Offhand I can't truly recall but probably a type-in ZX81 game or something on the C64. Didn't own either system so it'd have been on friends machines and their games hence my lack of memory on specifics.
First system I actually owned and played a lot on would have been the Amiga (best gaming platform of all time IMHO).
Back in the days, my big bro had a Commodore 16. I remember playing a side-scrolling-puzzle-type game called "Big Mac"...It had crap graphics, even crappier sfx...but for what it was, it was *FUN* nevertheless!
Mine was a handheld space invader game, on a computer the one great game that stood out was a game call Mercenary, like Elite but set on a planet. Truly a groundbreaking game.
My first gaming experience was playing Harrier Attack on my Amstrad CPC 464, at the same time I also played Super Hang On then a couple of years later Castle Master!
I cant really remember but the first game I really liked was street fighter
I'm never wrong. Once, I thought I was, but I was mistaken I dream of a day where chickens can cross the road without their motives questioned Hold still, I'm trying to imagine you with a personality You don't need pants for the victory dance
I think it would probably be...Sonic, and all those other ones on the Sega. But the ones that really hooked me on gaming have to be the Zelda games, Ocarina of Time(N64) and the Adventures of Link (NES) in particular. Although I've never really taken to Wind Waker...
My first game i played was the legend of Zelda. My first Playstation experience was Alien trilogy which i still find truly awesome. Excellent game play even today.
I had an Atari 2600, can't really remember the first game i played on it. 'Realsports Boxing' probably... Then i had a commodore 64, the first game i played on it was a Robocop demo, on a Zzap Megatape.
I remember playing Pong for the first time in the mid-1970s but it wasn't until I got a ZX Spectrum that I really started getting into gaming.
April 2007 is the 25th anniversary of the launch of the machine that really started the revolution in the UK - the ZX Spectrum. It's funny as it was never designed as a games machine, but that's what it became for ten years or so.
Yeah, a mate of mine had the old Atari 2600 with the switches and stuff, i had the newer version... can't remember any paddle games except a Star Wars lightsaber one. Speccy's were alright, we had those rubber key'd 48k's at school when i was a kid.
