Well, I agree that saying she HAD to sell her house was wrong, though having said that, there was little other way for her to raise the cash to send her back there.

It wasn't necessarily the ban on smoking I objected to. There were two things that riled me.

One was that the TV crew had obviously told one of the Brat Camp rangers about the handling of the fag butt in question. They portrayed it as if the Brat Camp team had discovered it for themselves!! Come on....I wasn't born yesterday!!!

It was a good half hour ago, I believe from one of the girls hiding the butt and the team supposedly catching them out.

How did they find out when the offending fag butt had been hidden under a cow pat for over half an hour? They's obviously been told.

Another question comes to mind as well.....how does a fag butt suddenly appear in a wilderness miles from civilisation? Strange, huh??

I suspect the TV crew hoped the girls would kick off big style when they found out their fate to provide some great footage for ratings.

The second thing that riled me was the totally over the top and ludicrous cracking down on the girls for such a minor infraction of the rules. They only handled it and passed it around! They avoided the obvious temptation and discarded it.

What was the purpose of such a harsh punihment for something so ludicrously petty?

It seemed it was just to show the girls who was boss rather than anything particularly meaningful.

It was shameful, petty and could have been massively counter-productive.

but they were all unde age,to even smoke so the no smoking ban was right.

oops your right,i thought the age limit was 18,but it's 16@ euclidian.

The legal smoking age in the state of Utah is 19 so they were all under-age !

It prohibits the sale of tobacco or supplying tobacco to a minor in which case the only criminal offence committed would have been by anyone who sold or gave cigarettes to the girls while in the states.
The rest of the smoking laws in utah are a matter of state or civil law NOT criminal law and would not apply to the girls unless they were classified as US citizens.
international laws are funny things.
Just remember it's still illegal for a brit to sleep with someone under the age of 16 regardless of the age of consent of the country they are in for example.

regardless, it would seem like the 'over the top' attitude towards smoking didn't exactly work if the intention was to get the girls to quit.

but then again brat camp had to make them think about their lives and yeah they found it hard no smokin and all but thats the whole point!!!
