1. Every problem situation is unique and will remain difficult to comment on accurately.
2. Not every parent, however committed, is equipped to deal with a situation that demands professional intervention.
3. The places running 'Camps' don't claim to run 'cure-all' courses.
4. If we look hard enough horror stories will always surface.
5. Some people lie.
6. Some abuse their position.
7. It may be a cliche but, 'We don't know 'cos we weren't there.'
8. Not everyone matures and grows out of it. That's why our prisons are full.
9. ...and finally, its curious that ALL the girls on Brat Camp 3 said they had no regrets about going to Utah, in fact some wanted to go back. Interesting, that one...
1. Of course. We are all humans and therefore different.
2. That is correct and that is also why most countries has created backup system at schools. Not all school choose to expell student at once. Some has created systems where teachers can be backed up in classes by eiter the parents (Employers can be compensated here in Denmark, so the parents can be at school with their child for a number of classes.) or an extra teacher dedicated to a certain student. Also several cities in Florida has programs where the child is dropped off by their parents daily and put through exercises before and after school until late afternoon where they are picked up by their parent again.
3. Some do, some do not.
4. You dont have to look very hard.
5. Of course, if some people can make easy money on parents who renounce their responsibility, they will do it.
6. Yes, even here in Denmark, we have 5-10 cases every year, which results in staff being fired.
7. We can only read the survivor testimonies about people experiencing traume decades after they had been in the programs. We would never know what caused that for real.
8. The main reason for your prisons being full is that there exist something called a warning by police and court. If a child do not experience consequence the first time it overstep the boundaries, it would loose respect for the law. You have to create systems where even small children down to about 10 years are sent out to a park supervised by their parent in order to collect garbage for one or two hours a week.
9. Yes, because they did not experience the real program, where there had been suicides, rapes and riots. Search ISAC for information about Aspen Achievement Academy.
