3. The places running 'Camps' don't claim to run 'cure-all' courses.
4. If we look hard enough horror stories will always surface.
5. Some people lie.
6. Some abuse their position.
7. It may be a cliche but, 'We don't know 'cos we weren't there.'
8. Not everyone matures and grows out of it. That's why our prisons are full.
9. ...and finally, its curious that ALL the girls on Brat Camp 3 said they had no regrets about going to Utah, in fact some wanted to go back. Interesting, that one...

1. Of course. We are all humans and therefore different.
2. That is correct and that is also why most countries has created backup system at schools. Not all school choose to expell student at once. Some has created systems where teachers can be backed up in classes by eiter the parents (Employers can be compensated here in Denmark, so the parents can be at school with their child for a number of classes.) or an extra teacher dedicated to a certain student. Also several cities in Florida has programs where the child is dropped off by their parents daily and put through exercises before and after school until late afternoon where they are picked up by their parent again.
3. Some do, some do not.
4. You dont have to look very hard.
5. Of course, if some people can make easy money on parents who renounce their responsibility, they will do it.
6. Yes, even here in Denmark, we have 5-10 cases every year, which results in staff being fired.
7. We can only read the survivor testimonies about people experiencing traume decades after they had been in the programs. We would never know what caused that for real.
8. The main reason for your prisons being full is that there exist something called a warning by police and court. If a child do not experience consequence the first time it overstep the boundaries, it would loose respect for the law. You have to create systems where even small children down to about 10 years are sent out to a park supervised by their parent in order to collect garbage for one or two hours a week.
9. Yes, because they did not experience the real program, where there had been suicides, rapes and riots. Search ISAC for information about Aspen Achievement Academy.

Ok, ok!!!
You do go on a bit - but i suppose when you've got a point to make...
Just to give a balanced view of the world and restore everyone's inner light - is there anything positive (in a nutshell, please) you have to say about places like Turnabout Ranch?

Yes, it is not lying in Denmark and does not and will not have Danish clients based on the public reaction on airing of Brat Camp 2.

R-i-g-h-t, erm... that clears that one up then!!!

Given all the rights and wrongs of these places i'm still gonna say that Utah seemed to be what Julie needed.
In her own personal way she seemed to 'flourish' - its just a shame she couldn't have found a way to go back with Georgie.

Wonder what Julie's doing now - are you out there?
Wonder how Georgie's getting on - anyone got some info??

The final part but often neglected part of a lot of treatments is to prepare a person who had been locked out from society to return. That is why inmates have weekends off from prisons. It is a trial to see whether people can handle freedom.

You have to take into consideration that the wilderness worked both ways for those girls. For once they were cut off from threats that could hurt their health but second they were shielded from the same treaths.

When the treatment is almost over they would feel the pressure of failing when this shield is removed. It is real anxiety, which should not be ignored. It is easy to refuse use of drug if they are not at hand, which is the case in the wilderness. It is very hard when the guy next to you can sell them to you.

I feel bad for Julie's struggle but is the answer to lock yourself up? If the answer is yes, what should we call the treatment in Utah?

Georgie (The rumours talks about a lockdown called Excel Academy in Texas - consult Heal-online and ISAC for information about that place.) choosed that option. She choosed to imprison herself. I hope that she sometime in the future should be able to live her life out in the society.

Mothers and daughters in the Family Camp program will participate in a three-week wilderness experience based on ANASAZI's existing 42-day treatment programs. If at the completion of filming additional treatment is deemed necessary by parents and ANASAZI's clinical staff, Twenty Twenty will fund treatment for the daughters in ANASAZI's existing adolescent program.

The UK version of Brat Camp, which is produced independently of the U.S. series by the same name, has received numerous awards, including an International Emmy in 2004.

Filming for season five will occur throughout December in an area separate from ANASAZI's ongoing programs for teens and young adults. Family Camp is scheduled to air on the UK's Channel Four network in early 2007.
