Good luck to them. Is it my imagination, but do Liverpool always seem to get really easy ties in the early rounds?

lets see shall we, assuming early round are 3rd to 5th as then its Qtr finals!!

2000/01

3rd round - home to rotheram - fair enough
4th round - away to leeds, back when they were good
5th round - home to man city...

2001/02

3rd round - home to birmingham
4th round - away to arsenal -lost

2002/03

3rd round - away to man city
4th round - home to C Palace - lost

2003/04

3rd round - away to yeovil - fair enough
4th round - home to newcastle
5th round - home to portsmouth - lost

2004/05

3rd round - away to burnley - lost

2005/06

3rd round - away to luton
4th round - away to portsmouth
5th round - home to man utd

2006/07

3rd round - home to arsenal - lost

so in those seven seasons we've had games against arsenal twice, leeds, newcastle, portsmouth twice, man utd, three away games against lower opposition, man city twice aswell, just because we've got luton and havant this year doesnt mean we always have it easy

1999 we lost away at man utd in 4th round too

I'm assuming it's the Havant near Portsmouth, which makes them a southern team?
In consequence I will be hoping that Liverpool win.

Are you serious?! Half of Liverpool are crying into their pints tonight, even though they won. Havant could have made it 2-0 to start....

They put up a good show and great effort which more than a few Prem sides have done at Anfield in recent times.

Yes I'm being very serious. What with yellow's description of Arsenal's stunning performance against Spurs even though they lost to a five goal score line, and your..........
Will half of Liverpool have been crying into their pints?
Words fail me.

Lol.. if you are being serious then fair enough, your opinion.. Though it couldn't be further from mine and i'm quite miffed by it.

Why will Liverpool being crying into their pints? Erm, have you spoke to any? Follow any of the live comments made from Liverpool fans on the larger forums? Listen to the comments made by Liverpool fans after the game? There were calls for Rafa to be given the boot at half time.. by Liverpool fans themselves.. They allowed a team to score past them not once, but twice, and hold them off for a decent amount of the game.

Generally, the feeling i got from the various comments made, they'd be crying into their pints with sheer embarrassment. You think Liverpool were good? Should be proud even? Really?

Seriously GJ, were you watching the same game? Did you not see the team that's six divisions below Liverpool taking the lead, not once, but twice?? The poor defending etc etc?

Lol.. i'm not wasting my breath anymore.. lol.. what a joke..

To be fair we aren't overpopulated by people who like Lancashire clubs round here. But I would have thought that they would be pleased to be in the next round.
The only people who would have been crying into their pints in my opinion would be the BBC.

I've not doubt they'll be pleased at having go through, it's more the issue of whether they played well enough to deserve it. Second half maybe, but the first half? I just wanted to praise Havant for giving Liverpool a decent game, when almost everyone expected them to lay down and get run over.

I'll bet. Pressumed it'd be a non event. But hopefully United's game will provide a decent show today....

I also would praise Havant, but my point is that Liverpool progressed through.
I only saw (most of) the 'Boro match and the BBC could not hide their bias, becoming so annoyed that the commentator referred to Robert Huth as a "barrel chested German!"
How those of us, who can remember the classic Marty Feldman sketch, laughed Big Grin
I have never liked this obsession with giant killers, and can well remember the season when Darlo were playing Frickley (potential G-K) We beat them then we were the potential Giant killers. It has become a meaningless cliche. Or is that the bloke who plays for Arsenal?

Judging by the way Liverpool fans tend to moan on the radio phone in shows, even when they're top of the league! I'd say they will be moaning into their pints.

Well done to H&W on not rolling over on 'their cup final' day. I expect many Liverpool fans will say that class won out in the end and the result was never really in doubt. That H&W shook them out of their complacency, is to their credit, though.

Sadly, from a neutral's point of view, all will be forgotten when Liverpool probably reach the final with Arsenal/Chelsea or Man U as their opposition.

Well done to H&W, but I'm now completely fed up of hearing about them, having to sit through highlights of "the tie that made us sit up and take notice of the cup once again" and especially of seeing that fat kid bawling his eyes out at probably his first Havant game
