...I have to start a thread about Everton being bottom.

Next up, Spurs away. And then on the 23 Oct, home to Chelsea!

So, you'll be bottom of the league with a quarter of the season gone.

Jingle, jangle <- David Moyes nerves.

Our season starts against West Brom in about a month....

No, whilst things are bleak right now it has to be taken in to consideration that we have a relatively small squad still and currently have more injured players than any other Premiership side – 9 at the last count. The number of games played with such an injury ravaged squad has already taken effect and the mainstays look tired. This is not excuse but simple fact. We’ve been quite unlucky in goals disallowed I make it 3 now, especially the Villareal one, that really knocked the stuffing out of any team spirit we had.

Still, the international break should give us a break and a chance to get some of our walking wounded back to fitness – Kroldrup and Van Der Meyde should be back soon and hopefully Beattie’s toe injury will have had enough time to heal.

Hopefully.

if "if" is a big word, how big is hopefully!!!

you have been unlucky, i think kroldrup is going to be an excellent signing, van der meyde i think will sink without a trace, what you really need is for beattie to start scoring the goals you paid him for

Most teams suffer when key players are injured. United arent the same without Van Nistelroy, Arsenal arent the same without Henry.

Something the media often misses when reporting on a teams demise. I expect Everton to recover, though my prediction skills this year seem to be a bit flawed Frown. Charlton had a bad start to last season and some were calling for Curbishleys head. If Charltons board had been as impetuous as some clubs they would have sacked him but would they be in the same situation if they had? IMO I dont think so.

I meant Charlton being in as good a position now.

We get ya Capt.

The difference between Charlton and Everton is that Charlton have a smidgen of quality in their team. Everton on the other hand do not have a single quality player in their squad.

They escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth the season before last. This season they won't be so lucky.

thats a bit harsh, cahill was superb last year but hasn't reached the same height, along with the rest of the team, kroldrup looks like a very good signing, but is sadly injured, nigel martyn has been brilliant for everton ever since he signed, and i'm sure we'd all rather see him backing up robinson than david james, arteta's a very good player and if davies can refind his early spurs form he'll be excellent.

That’s more than harsh, it’s simply insulting and baseless at that. No matter what your opinion, you surely must agree that over a season luck balances out and the teams finish where they deserve to, thus last season for whatever reason Everton were the 4th best team in the country. Liverpool might have faltered and Bolton also but that’s not the fault of Everton. We might not have skilful and tricky wingers (not until VDM gets fit anyhow!) like Chelsea or the guile and interplay of Arsenal but then nor have Bolton who finished 6th and I don’t hear anyone complaining about them and bemoaning their lack of quality. See, fact is – quality players don’t always make for a quality team – look at Real Madrid’s inability to win the Champions League in recent years and their failure to beat Barcelona to the league title. Everton got to 4th primarily through hardwork, dogged determination and team spirit, surely these are things you’d like to in todays money orientated game? I know I would. Cahill’s goals from midfield, Ferguson’s ability to turn a game from the bench and a miserly defence also contributed to our success. This season, the 1-0 wins have turned into 1-0 defeats (see Portsmouth and Fulham), our inability to score compounding our situation and putting huge pressure on an unfamiliar defence. I hesitate to mention it AGAIN but we’ve had appalling luck with injuries this season and currently have 9 players out, quite a few of these being first-teamers – Kroldrup, Van Der Meyde, Beattie, Davies (isn’t fully fit, but when is he ever?), Carsely (so important last year) etc…

Anyway, I’m fed up of having to justify and defend a team who people are knocking without backing it up. Pathetic arguments from people who clearly do know their football – obviously on a wind up. I’ve just risen to it again. Damn me.

We'll see how many Everton players are picked up by Premiership clubs next season and how many will be plying their trade in the championship.

I live in Swindon, so clearly I support Man United. Only joking.

I follow Swindon's results, but I would never go as far as to claim myself a supporter.

Actually, judging by the number of little kids wearing replica shirts, maybe I should support Chelsea.

I must say that the amount of Arsenal shirts has declined in direct correlation to the amount of Spurs shirts being worn going up in North London recently. Strange that.

Every successful team has their quota of 'pseudo' fans. However,it would appear the Man U Black Sox are shedding a lot of theirs!

They've not shedded me and none of the members of my family,if the "pseudo" fans want to look elsewhere then so be it, the true ones won't change
