I don't think they're up for sale, just a few other factors have emerged this summer.

1. Hleb can't settle in London so wants a move

2. They are poor payers compared to some of the other top clubs, so when Barca come calling, Adebayor listens and bails out on the club that made him the kind of player he is today. So lets hope they teach him awareness of whats going on around him and also what the word offside means in the modern game Big Grin

I wouldnt say we are poor payers for instance Vieira took a wage drop to go to Juventus and Henry did to go to Barca.

Though obviously overall our wages cant compete with a club that is richer and wants to poach a player also taxes in other European countries are more attractive *looks at spain*

According to the papers we are always selling half our players every year during silly season though i do think this year there is more of an element of truth.

Actually i should put down why I think.

In the absence of Dein who used to deal with player contracts etc. It appears to me that mistakes have been made falling foul of the 2 year buyout clauses for players over 25 and signing players on low wages thinking they will be "locked in". Hence Edelman moving on to pastures new recently.

I'm a Man United fan and think Arsenal played some amazing football last season. I rad in the paper that Barcelona are in for 8 arsenal players! with Milan sniffing around as well.

I beginning to get a bit fed up with big Italian and Spanish clubs coming in fo the Premierships best players every season. Viera, Henry, Beckham, Van Nistelroy, why if we are the best league in the world can't we keep our players, and don't get me stared on actually managing to compete in the transfer market for the worlds best players, they always want Spain or Italy.

Madrid want Ronaldo this season, with Kaka, Fabregas and Torres ear marked for next season.
I think both Man U and Arsenal should send them packing and keep our best players.

Also, do you not think that osme of Europe's top, and not so top, clubs are fed up with English clubs coming along and nicking their best players, usually at a very young age? When was the last time an Italian or spanish club took on a 16 year old from one of our clubs?

I take your point, but when clubs are getting millions of pounds for a 16 year with no expierence, and unproven - from some of these little clubs points of veiw it's like winning the lottery, they are on their knees begging some big club to come along and give them enough money to buy half a team and pay the wages.

Big clubs like Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal are quite capable of transfer listing players that are surplus to requirements, they don't need other clubs sniffing around at players they want to keep.

Fabregas was at Barcelona when Arsenal signed him

He seems to be one of their best signings though. Fabregas and Podolski were players who really made a difference in a game and were my best 2 players of the tournement for Euro 2008.

I want to know what is the problem with Francesc Fabregas?

Cashley Cole had a pop at him before quitting the Gunners, now Aleksandr Hleb is allegedly having a pop at him now & he wants out!

What is the deal with Fabregas? Confused

He seems a little bit on the arrogant side to me. I remember Mark Hughes also having a go at him as Fibreglass was walking off the pitch once

Well if he feels like a move to Old Trafford I'd be quite happy to see him here.

Yea of course darling little sparky was a complete angel when he was a player.

Yes Fabregas was at Barcelona when we signed him but he couldnt get in the youth team with iniesta messi ahead of him. Its a lot different to unsettling a regular first team player.

Hleb is no big loss to Arsenal, he's a good player but never scored enough, probably because he always wanted to walk the ball into the net and never took a shot. They will be a better team without him.

As for Adebayor, the amount of money being rumoured tio be offered for him is shocking. Arsenal will be laughing if they can get anything more than 10 million for him.

Also, very few players sold by Wenger go on to achieve great things.

Not many do, a few have.

I liked Hleb, when he was at his best we were storming but he is inconsistant. He is not there to score goals, some players are key midfielders that dont. Its about time some commentators realised this.

Adebayor scored 30 goals for us last year. So if he isnt worth 10 million then there are a good number that arent Big Grin. Strikers seem to be going for stupid money at the moment though.

I'd like to see how Adebayor gets on this season. It will be a big ask for him to repeat the 30 goals, or come anywhere close to that, but that's only my opinion. He's a player I just don't rate, there's just something about him. I don't think he's the most aware player they possess.

Having said that, you've signed an absolute gem of a player in Aaron Ramsey. He's a fantastic player with bags and bags of talent and potential and I read on some arsenal messageboards that the fans look like they're warming to him as well

I would like to see him do it as well lol. After this summer though if he goes on a bad run again i am not sure the fans will be so accommodating. One thing I do hope is that he has a strike partner that lasts most of the season unlike last year.

Ramsey cant say i've seen much of him except the FA cup games but there have been a lot of positive comments about him coming from the club so sounds like he will be used sooner rather than later a bit like Walcott maybe.

Must be hard to lose a player like that just as you are trying to get a promotion side together.

It is a bit galling to lose a player of his talent. However, we are realistic that a player of his ability isn't going to stay out of the Premiership forever and he leaves us with no hard feelings whatsoever. We've also got to take bids like that in our financial state, most clubs outside the Premiership would also. It's easier for us to take that he leaves us than it would be for you to lose a player like him for £5m

It looks like a rare mistake by Ferguson this. Whereas Wenger flew Ramsey and his parents (his Dad hates football, he's a dyed-in-the-wool (no pun intended! Big Grin) rugby man) out by private jet to Switzerland, where he was on official business during Euro 2008, and took time out to personally speak with him, Ferguson had a phone conversation and had a 3rd party, Gary Neville we have been told down here, to show him round the training ground and Old Trafford. It seems this, plus the attraction of Premiership football sooner at Arsenal, swung it in Arsenal's favour

I like to think Everton were in with a shout as well. I really thought Ramsey might go for is with UEFA Cup assured and the knowledge he'd be a LOT closer to the first team than if he joined one of Utd or l'Arse.

Its probably not as bad as it may seem prolix. Hleb, Flamini and Gilberto have left, Mr Injured sorry I mean Rosicky might play a handful of games if we are lucky. Also we still haven't replaced Diarra from the January transfer window.

His main competition is probably going to be with new players and young players already at the club of similar age.

Must have been a hard decision for him though whether to go for first team now or backup at Arsenal or United.

Ramsey is very similar in style to Fabregas. Flamini leaving hasn't really opened any doors for him. Like you say, Capt, his competition will bne from central midfielders already in the team and at the club

It was a ploy by fergie, he wasn't that keen really on ramsey as united already have loads of young talent. He was faneing interest so that he could get more transfer funds out of the Glazers to buy really tallented players from Europe.

When he really wants a young player he gets him, just look at rooney and theres no way everton wanted to lose him.

Ramsey would have really struggled to get to play at united, so he wasn't needed and ferguson has sold off better
