Football Boots
Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a Question I have regarding Football Boots...

Anyway I plan on getting these:
www.prosportuk.com/detail/3/151/204

I know there nothing special but they will do and there cheap, anyway I will be playing on Astro Turf, would these be alright on there? and possibly the Grass? it does mention that they are SG (Soft Ground) would this be fine? also if there fine for Astro Truf and not so good for Grass would I need to also buy these:

www.prosportuk.com/detail/3/16/612

Thanks.

No you wouldnt get enough grip with them, it would be like playing on ice.

I always used separate boots for astro turf as i figured it was worth the money to preserve more of my skin. They dont have studs, they have dimpled astroturf soles. You can get basic cheap ones if you look around.

Long time since i played though.

Also i never used metal tipped studs as they can sharpen up with use.

from the same site ...

Something like this

http://www.prosportuk.com/detail/3/162/1919

or this on the same site.

Also notice they are recomemded for hard or artificial surfaces. I used to use them on hard grass as well when we had summers like this one.

I agree with Capt. One pair of proper astroturf trainers (effectively what they are) and another pair of boots for grass pitches

Think of astroturf as playing on the carpet in your front room. Studs will be of no use at all, but a comfy pair of trainers will be fine.
Glad to see you haven't been taken in by the "£120 ultra light weight, bend the ball in two ways, hemi grip, two lace, swerve technology, spider stitched, limited colour" rubbish that is no use to anyone who plays non professional football. The best pair of boots I ever owned cost under £2 from a charity shop, didn't have an ounce of leather in them, and I couldn't stop scoring in them!

You what!?! Mad I have a pair of boots that match whatever colour socks my team is playing in. Quite frankly, I find there's no better boots for wading through a muddy park pitch on a sunday morning in January than your Predators which cost me £130.

And that last bit about couldn't stop scoring in them. Are you sure you're not talking about the shoes you wore out on a friday night? Wink
