It's sad to see but Macca has got England managers syndrome, how on earth does Defoe find him starting for England when on merit it should be Bent or Johnson?
To me it looks as though he is trying to appease the fans who thought Defoe should have went to the world cup, Defoe shouldnt have gone to the world cup Sven got that right he should have taken Johnson and Bent......oh well at least they are in the squad nowadays.

Andy Johnson is the man for me. Defoe seems a little lightweight for the cynical European qualifying game.

Get off Defoe's back he's much better than Bent and Johnson.
He just gets a bit nervous in an England shirt and can you blame him in the last WC a certain dimwit picked an untried kid ahead of him.
People assume that to be England quality you have to be extra special thats a joke considering the lack of depth in our forward line at the moment.
As a 3rd or 4th choice forward Defoe can certainly do a job.
