Iwould not attatch too much importance to these cup games. Look at the attendances! Look at the other night, Darlo nearly beat Reading, after a really poor display against a fellow div 2 team. This competition is not an exact science.
Capitalism is not dead (malheureusment) It just smells funny.
The stupid thing is, we will put in a good performance against Chelsea- you can almost guarentee it.
When players play against teams like Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea they are already motivated- that is enough motivation they need.
However against the lower league sides it is the managers job to motivate them. In the past few years we have lost to teams like Wycombe, Leyton Orient, West Brom and Burnley. This is not acceptable.
Well this morning I am furious with Southgate, I paid 12 quid to see that rubbish and field a team of players who have not played for a long time. Southgate in his programme notes said ''the fans need to treat this match as if it is Basel or Steaua Bucharest'' Im sorry Gareth pot, kettle?
Im disgusted not only because I paid to go and see the match last night but because it is 5 or 6 game route to european football we are not the sort of club who should dis regard the carling cup, I don't think Southgate had an excuse to leave our best players out because it is not like we are in europe this season!! Oh well its 20 less games to pay for this season for me.

As i said in the other thread, it's not on. These teams should care. For their own sake and for the fans sake. It shouldn't matter if there's one man in and dog supporting the team, they should go out to win regardless.
Yes exactly, I know personally how great winning the carling cup is its great to win any cup especially for teams like Fulham, City and Boro who these days don't win an awful lot infact in my lifetime they have 1 trophy between all 3 clubs! It just really p*sses me off how blind some managers are to the fact that they are 5 or 6 games from being in europe and winning a trophy fair enough its understandable for the top teams they have other things to worry about and they are gauranteed europe, Gareth was sat next to Lamb and Gibson in the first half when he should have been on the touchline plus id not like to be sat next to the cheif exec and chairman when you go 1-0 down to Notts County.
