Taking into account how good he is 'meant' to be (I always found him very over-rated) and the number of games he has played it's actually not a very good goal scoring record at all.
These days he seems more interested in shouting at the referee at any given opportunity.

He's very good and has largely been in the background.
Capitalism is not dead (malheureusment) It just smells funny.
Its not bad for a winger. Not many players get to do 100 for their club purely because not many stay that long nowadays. Or even back then.
Only nine players have ever done that at Arsenal and only two of them in living memory and its not as if we have had a bad record over the hundred years or so.

He may or may not be overrated; that's a matter of a opinion, but he must be congratulated for keeping his head down, maintaining his fitness & a level of performance to play for Sir Alex Ferguson for all those years.
It's down to Sir Alex that Giggs is still going.
He wrapped Giggs up in cotton wool & refused to let the press near him in the early days & that allowed to Ryan to keep a level head.
He could have ended up like David Beckham; more interested in being a Z list celebrity & playing for a pub team like LA Galaxy now, had SAF not done that.
it does seem a long time for someone who's played for so long and in a team that has always scored plenty though, i'd assumed he'd passed this mark a while ago
that said, well done and yes, his professionalism is an example to young kids everywhere
Is a player also over-rated having kept his place in a side that has been as phenominally successful as United have been since the PL was introduced (don't forget, United were a very ordinary club with only the odd cup victory since 1967 before the Sky Premier League came in)?
i can name a few over rated players i dont really ming giggs tho.and now you mention it considering he has been at man u for ages he is not a very good goal scorer.
It's not really his job to score goals, but to set them up and, considering the amount of goals United have scored since he's been in the first team, he hasn't really done a bad job

Surely some mistake.

Remember this is just league goals and doesn't include any scored in cup competitions. Giggs did used to be a little more prolific but has scored less over the last three or four seasons.
Here's a list I've found. This is just for the Premier League so doesn't include five goals which Giggs must have scored in the old first division.
1. Alan Shearer 261 2. Andy Cole 187 3. Thierry Henry 174 4. Robbie Fowler 161 5. Les Ferdinand 150 6. Teddy Sheringham 147 7. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink 128 8. Michael Owen 127 9. Dwight Yorke 123 10. Ian Wright 113 11. Dion Dublin(!!!) 111 12. Robbie Keane 100 13. Matt Le Tissier 100 14. Emile Heskey 96 15. Ryan Giggs 95 16. Paul Scholes 95 17. Ruud Van Nistlerooy 95 18. Frank Lampard 90 19. Mark Viduka 90 20. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 89
Others in the list who are still playing include Nicolas Anelka on 85, Yakubu on 63, Rooney on 61 and Defoe on 59.
For the full list go to the premier league's official site and look under goal scorers for all seasons in the statistics section.
Giggs's goal tally isn't as poor as otherwise suggested looking at the list but Dion Dublin, now there's a surprise!
When I say you can see the full list it really is the full list, right down to the likes of Jaap Stam and Helder Postiga on one goal along with many other long forgotten Premier League bit part players - Paolo Vernazza anyone? He scored a goal for someone somewhere.
