Just as I was thinking of knocking it on the head!
Every time I pick a player, they end up transfered abroad, or long term injured!

The one I do at my gym is based on the Telegraph one...the main difference being that there are no transfers...and it's a long season!
Will have to pop in there today, just to see if I am still ahead of the Olympians!!

I do the premier league website one, where you can set up your own mini-leagues - and its free!
my problem is that it makes me feel quite queasy to put players i dislike in my team.... therefore aint never going to be that good.

I have a terrible confession to make. I have never played Fantasy Football in my life! My only excuse is I've lived abroad for many years.

Where do I get hold of the rules, and how to play? Ninja

It greatly varies, depending on which one you join...although the rules are roughly the same, it's the price of players, and the marks given to them that is the big swing. The Sun (which I have never done) version gave man of the match to John Arne Riise on Tuesday, and thus he got extra points (????) which doesn't happen in the Telegraph version (which I do play...sort of. The gym I go to entered as a subdivision, running on the Telegraph rules, except we get NO substitutions all season...so if a player goes abroad or to a lower league, or is long term injured, tough!
The rules are usually in the papers, or web site pre season, along with the prices of players.
You usually get a budget of circa £50m with which to pick your team, and points are awarded/deducted (depending again on which league you join) for appearences, goals scored, bookings, clean sheets/goals conceeded, assists, etc.
If it's free, I might give the C4 one a punt, but it seems that most of them you have to pay for... Frown

This is the first year I havent done Fantasy football for 4 years... Lost its appeal, as most of my team got injured.. And i ended up having to pick Arsenal players for my team and that hurt alot! as i was cheering them on each week! Think i will re enter next year though.. they do a good one in the sun and The Telegraph.. it is a lot of fun and the one i used to do you get to make transfers throughout the season, so if someones not performing well you can change your change them! you get about 24 changes a season so longs you keep to the 50million. It can be quite addictive, as Cupra will tell you! Wink

"Just because its fun!"

I converted my Telegraph scoring team to the Sun's version, to see what points I would have got...1767...which isn't bad considering I had to use the same 11 players all season!

I tried this game for the last 2 years on the BBC but it's not overly generous. I like the Telegraph game but the Star one at starfantasyfootball.co.uk seems to have some interesting point scoring opportunities. The Telegraph game has introduced man of the match points as well which should make things interesting. I'm going to put the same team in the Sun's game and see how they compare!

I really liked the BBC fantasy football and was sad when it finished. Am really glad it is coming to C4, we had about 25 in our league and it was great fun. I only wish that the friends leagues had little mini forums to leave messages for your mates.

I registered for C4 Fantasy Footbal a few weeks back and was notified that I would be contacted nearer the time with details. So far I haven't heard a word. Should I have heard by now?
