Innocent until proved guilty and all that, but, hand on heart, can you say you're really surprised by this? Not exactly measuring anything on the football Richter scale, is it?
Does this mean we might get rid of Jamie Redknapp too *fingers crossed* please please please
On Sky they should question dear Jamie about his father's arrest.
"erm...it's all part and parcel of being a manager...erm...at the end of the day it's a game of two halves they'll interrogate daddy and I'm sure daddy in the second half will go on the offensive...erm...luck of the draw really innit...erm...any one of a dozen managers couldv'e been arrested...erm...it's early doors... ermm...I'm sure if daddy is locked away...erm he'll take each day as it comes...erm...he's a passionate man, he's passionate about money...erm...if you took that passion out of his game he wouldnt be the same manager... you know...erm...I'm behind him 110%erm... and I'm sure he went to the nick by mutual consent...you know erm...
He is a top top manager and a top top dad innit. Its these stupid rules nowadays how are you expected to understand them. He didnt have any malicious intent there he was just being honest and hardworking erm innit.
"I don't know what they're doing to Dad, I really don't. These charges have been trumped up, they really have. How you can arrest a top, top bloke, and a top, top manager like my Dad I don't know, I realy don't. Everyone knows that my Dad likes a deal, we all do at the end of the day, and these rules are stupid, they really are. He's broken the rules, he really has, we all know that, so why charge him after the event? It's stupid, it really is, and why didn't they arrest him when he was actually doing this, I don't know. it's stupid, it really is"
Over to you, Andy Gray
"Ach, I cannae believe this. I never realised Harry had a dodgy bone in his body. You cannae go around arreesting people like Harry just for being a bit corrupt. These people who make the rules are showing once again a complete lack of understanding about what it's like to clinch a deal, these rules are ridiculous and the sooner they stop this and just let corrupt managers carry on and be corrupt, the better this game will be. He would never have been arrested in my day, that's when we were proper footballers. Ridiculous, Richard, ridiculous. But more about that in my 'Last Word' slot, on at 6.30, don't miss it folks, if you like me churning over everything you've seen just to justify my wages and make me the total authority on everything Premiership. Back to you Richard."
"Thanks Andy. So, we're just about to kick off, but before we go, lets go to a commercial break. And, just to make you feel better Harry, I'd just like to sday you'll be welcome on this show anytime, Harry, with your outdated ideas, just as long as we can come to the right deal!. Keep your chin up, mate"

Yeah, I agree Andy, being liked and respected within the game and punching above your weight at c**p clubs without so much as a pot to p**s in and then getting the best out of mediocre players is just soooooooooooooooooooooooooo last year. It's a bit like your old fashioned 'hairdryer treatment' isn't it? Talk about outdated, I mean, what sort of idiotic dinosaur still does that, eh? It just doesn't work anymore does it?
As for 'Arrys lad, if only he was a bit more like his Dad, eh? The poor bloke's duller than a dull thing that's dull.
---------------------------------------------- Please, ANYONE but Mourhino or Cap... oh bugger!

England are a potentially (sic) world beating side with more resources than you can imagine (and you can imagine a great deal) Thus they deserve the best. I would love to think that there was an English manager capable, but there is not.
Capitalism is not dead (malheureusment) It just smells funny.
Certainly not Redknapp, and definitely not Allardyce either.
And England need a manager/coach who's 1005 committed. Which is what Mourinho will be until Real Madrid or Barcelona offer him the day to day involvement that club management provides

I meant 100%!!!!
Actually I like the sound of 1005 ! Like someone who works 4711. (Only the chicks will get that one!)

Forget about the wide boy image. I say let 'Arry have a go... hold on, that would mean Lumpard would be a regular. Sod that for a game of soldiers!
It would be a sad day if Mourhino gets the England job. Tantamount to selling our souls to the devil. Anyone that regards the England job as only his third choice shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the England set up. I might be in the minority as well, but if getting Mourhino means playing like Chelsea and stifling Englands one skillful player, a certain J Cole, then I'd rather have Kevin Keegan or Howard Wilkinson and fail miserably like we always do. Unlike Mourhino, at least they're English and would be bursting with pride after being given the ultimate and most important job in English football.
Btw Joe, I don't know what's worse, that Brand talking about football or you reading the Guardian? I'm more of a Ron Atkinson Daily Express man myself.
Btw 2, I see 'Arry has just put England short listee O'Neill to the sword. Only two shots on target in the whole game and Pompey scored THREE! The man's a flipping genius.

This was being printed here there and everywhere just before McClaren got given the job. He will have some pride and understand our game frothed the tabliods and broadsheets you could almost hear the national anthem in the background as the words spilled across the page.
What utter utter utter rubbish. We need an England coach who can drag the England team tactics into the 21st Century. So that if we are having a hard game we can resort to something other than lumping the ball up the pitch or giving them a good kicking. A coach that will make our team take the games seriously. None of this out drinking and clubbing while on England duty because they can get away with it while not with thier clubs. We are a joke in Europe, read up on Tony Adams comments (yes Harrys number 2) on trying to get a coaching job in Italy.
Harry ironically would do a reasonable job but the trouble with him is that he would be another Venables where the press are constantly trying to unearth the skeletons.
Yes indeed! Perhaps I should say why I think Harry should not get the job. The foreign owned newspapers such as NOTW and the Sun have waged a war against the England team for years, constantly undermining anyone associated with the national squad. They don't like us and they don't want us to win anything. Witness all the rubbish they came out with about Sven. So how do you think Harry would survive? An England coach needs to be bomb proof.
OR..........Do you just think they would make it up anyway, whoever the manager was?
BTW Russell is a 1005 football supporter even if he does support the 'ammers. The Grauniad is God's own paper and good for sport, so there!

England, my England by name, Little Englander by nature by the sounds of this.
England fans should want the best man for the job, surely? OK, Joe cole was stifled at Chelsea, but that didn't stop them winning 2 titles under him, did it? And, if England do manage to win the World Cup under Mourinho, will you still be moaning that he did it in a negative way and Joe Cole was stifled? Or will you be one of the 500,000 who throng the streets welcoming them back while on their open top bus?
One would like to laugh. However my mate at work decided to go to watch the Tutenkamen (sp?) exhibition instead of the 'Boro match. He offered me and Mrs Joe his posh grandstand tickets. I'm fed up of seeing Arsenal beat us by at least four goals so I declined. My son was called out and also offered me his ticket, I declined again. Still expecting Arsenal to win, but it sounds like a cracking game.
