I went to the game today, it was brilliant, hard to believe they are the Italian Champs, we beat them 2-1, it was only a friendly though(although you wouldnt of thought so).

Hopefully we can beat them in a week's time to give us a good confident boost.

Good luck. I dont think Italy is the force it once was in football, even though they have just won the World Cup.

A good result, yeah, but I don't usually hold anything by these results. Was it a proper, first choice Inter side? How many substitutions?

You need these games to get the team gelling, but as a pointer towards a new season? Not for me, really

From what I understood Inter didn't play any of their World Cup stars which makes up a sizeable proportion of their team. Throw in the fact the the English league is 2 weeks away while the Italian league is over a month away obviously match fitness played a crucial part.
Like Andy said you can't read anything into friendlies.

Both us and them only played half a team, we left all our world cup stars out as well.

We used 3 subs, they used 2. We didnt even have a right back playing, which meant no wingers. A great game though, we should of won by more but that was just the inexperience of a couple of new boys.

Line-ups: Spurs: Cerny (Fulop, 46), Routledge, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone (Ghaly, 62), Dawson, Davenport, Tainio, Davids, Keane (Murphy, 82), Berbatov, Defoe (Ziegler, 72). Subs: Gardner, Barnard, Ifil.

Inter Milan: Toldo, Cordoba, Maicon, Zanetti, Stankovic, Samuel, Pizarro, Cesar (Choutos, 82), Marino (Solari, 46), Dacourt, Martins. Subs: Carini, Slavkovski, Bonucci, Fautario, Belajd, Andreolli.

Second thoughts that Inter team doesn't look bad, the following would probably be in the first team ... Toldo, Cordoba, Zanetti, Stankovic, Samuel, Cesar, Dacourt, Martins

But I still maintain you can't read anything into such friendlies.

I agree, which is why i cant look into the game to much, it didnt tell us anything about how much we will miss Carrick, we wont know that until we have played 5 or so games in the Premiership.

Sky sports have come out in a story that after the game we offered £12m for Martins, but i havnt heard it anywhere else, silly season is almost over now anyway, hopefully we will have two more players at the Lane at least, a left winger and a right back.

Yeah i know, i hope the money from Carrick doesnt go on him, we have even more important positions needed to be strengthened for Europe.
I heard that Sheffield Utd have 6, i dont know if that is right though.

It is our third kit, and our original kit that was used in the 1800's, but i dont like it neither, except for the socks.

At least we are wearing our original colours, unlike Arsenals last year, which was Nottingham Forrest give aways, from when two ex Nottingham Forrest players invented Arsenal.

Erm that was our original colours though...I dont care many top clubs took their colours from others. Juventus, barcelona, Ajax (arsenal Big Grin) so we are in good company. Just a bit of banter Big Grin im sure you wouldnt let it pass if we wore shirts like that Big Grin.

I cant stand them to be honest, i love the gold, but the brown sucks, not that great watching neither. I had an arguement about wearing the sh1t at the Lane, we are the Lilywhites for christ sakes!
Most Spurs like it, i think it stinks and i wont be getting it.

I remember in the 80s, Chelsea brought out a new kit which was called the "Chelsea Connection", and this also encompassed leisure wear. It was about the same time as they changed their badge from the traditional to the ghastly lion over the CFC logo. Their away kit was jade! Big Grin I bet Doug "The thug" Rougvie loved that!
