That might come true.

But why anyone would want a fantasy about Germany winning anything is quite beyond me. Laugh

I had such a great time there at the World Cup, and I will be there for the back end of 2008.
You have to be there etc.

Me too Smile.

I think that's a popular and logical call at the moment.

Maybe I'm biased as I live in Germany and, even as a Brit, I think they're a terrific team Wink.

OK, quite a few of the top Germany players are not at top form and fitness but they remain strong overall.

So, I am up for Fantasy Euro 2008 (or even just any sort of sweepstake type thingy) Smile.

btw the German team was announced a few hours ago.

That the only "shock" is about the omission of one reserve goalkeeper indicates that their garden is fairly rosy Wink.

Yeah, I've done the Metro one as well. I actually sell advertising into the Metro newspaper, but that wasn't the main consideration for me doing it. I love fantasy team competitions, but never do very well in them!

Indeed. I am sure there will be a lot of interest once it starts. Football is like TV wallpaper these days, lots of people just watch it Wink.

And, yes, there's something appealing about Poldi, his boyishness perhaps Big Grin. He's not had too many chances for Bayern recently but he's got potential and Löw seems to have confidence in him.

I'm not sure about no-onwe being interested in it. The people I've spoken to seem happier that England aren't in it, both in wales and England

Most of the German girls I know have fallen in love with Mario Gomez and they hope that he will do well.
Twill be interesting if they play the Polish duo up front or Gomez!

Gomez has been in good form, but I can't see him getting in the starting XI. Podolski and Klose will be favourites to start for them, surely?

You would think so.
But there is a groundswell developing in The Fatherland.

Yes, this seems to be the Bundestrainer's most intriguing call - will he stick with Kuranyi or switch to Gomez with Klose (assuming he's an automatic choice).

Well, along with "what to do with Lehmann" of course Wink.

The German public doesn't seem that confident to me. Perhaps because, Ballack and Gomez apart, a lot of the first choice have been below par.

PS: Poldi and Gomez can play together. Poldi has most recently played a deeper role - very effectively vs. Cyprus.

I think the choice about Gomez is in respect of excluding Kuranyi (or less likely Klose).

It's Poldi, Klose plus 1 in my mind.

Why isn't Hildebrand in the squad? Is he injured? He's been touted, from what I've heard, as being the long term keeper answer

No. He's fit. He just wasn't picked.

After Lehmann, there were a number of young keepers (the rest of whom play in Germany) chasing two places and he missed out. Trainer's judgement call.

It was the only contentious selection decision. The spat has continued ever since.
