Well if Fergie wants to get rid of class players im happy for us to get them, and of course who would not want to come to the biggest team in the world lol
PMSL! He was one of the few players Utd have in the back four who could dish it out, and take it too, without falling over like Bambi on ice... Not like Utd have got anyone better in as a replacement either
The past is history...The future a mystery. This moment is a gift...That's why it's the present.
I'd have Evra over Heinze. Heinze seems a bit ragged in against class opposition (the Milan game last year being a case in point), I've always thought he's over-rated.

Another season, and still a Utd basher.. grow up son.. your bias is clouding your judgement..
I'm not saying Heinze was useless, i just didn't think he warranted the hype..

Grow up son..... bit of a patronising comment, Cupra may be a Liverpool fan but that doesnt mean he doesnt have a valid point, Heinze was a good player with a proper attitude, as oppose to the likes of Ferdinand who arent prepared to put their body on the line, or spend more time playing to the crowd than getting the job done. I know which player i have more respect for. Not every criticism of Utd by a Liverpool fan is bitterness you know, we do know a bit about football too!!
Sure you have players i dont rate who you may rate, such as Ferdinand, and i hate Ronaldo still, but that doesnt mean i dont appreciate his qualities as a player, and despite being a Liverpool fan i can happily hold my hands up and say Scholes has been one of the best midfielders in the world the last ten years. That said, when i say i dont rate certain players it doesnt make me a Utd basher does it, everyones entitled to their opinions.

You don't know the half of it. Look up last seasons threads! It's old, i'd hoped he might have grown out of it now.
Cupra only ever tends to appear to slate united in one way or another.. nothing about his own teams success, nothing aout how useless other teams have been so far.. nope, just any chance to dance on Uniteds grave and he's set his alarm nice and early to be the first there doing his best chicken dance - That is why he comes across as a United basher.. Nothing to do with his support of LFC - You support LFC and seem fairly reasonable.. you offer valid constructive points.. you don't appear on every single United thread with "OMG!! ROFLFOFOFOFOFLMAOPSML SNORT!" like a certain someone does.. it serves no purpose and destroys any point that might have been made afterwards.
On the Liverpool issue - Again, i'm not a LFC hater/basher/etc.. i respect some of the players enough to have the in various fanstasy league dream teams.. had Reina as keeper for most of last season and still do.. I don't have issues there.. sure there's always the banter and rivalry but that's all it is to me.. Just don't see the purpose of appearing with "SNORT ROLF LOL HARRIS LMAO' at every opportunity.

Still Cupra does make some good, fair points aswell, as you do, (the discussion on teh signing of Hargreaves seemed balanced by all) i guess you will both have to agree to disagree on the liverpool v utd thing, and long may the banter continue, its what makes football so enjoyable
Personally i think you're a predator up front and a decent central defender away from being where you want to be, you've several scorers of great goals, Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Scholes etc but are missing a Ruud type player. I know you'll share the goals around but at times it seems you're each waiting for someone else to do something brilliant rather than playing as a team like you have in the past. But hey, thats my opinion, dont know if you agree. Plus you need to replace Neville sooner rather than later, i don't think Wes Brown is the answer, decent squad player though he is.
I think Liverpool have their best squad in years, the crunch will be to see if we can cope with the pressure at the end of the season when every point counts, and if we can beat the top teams regularly. We deserved to beat Chelsea IMO but didnt, will have to wait and see how we do against you and Arsenal. Good start made so far though.
I know what you're saying. It would be good to have a ruthless Drogba type player.. although as for needing one i'm not so sure.. when we do have our full squad fit and available (will it ever happen?! ) there's plenty of players with the ability to score, as you said.. Defence definitely needs a good look at.. Brown has his moments alright, good and bad..
I knew Liverpool would pose a greater threat this season.. so far so good then eh?

Yeah, to me O'Shea, Silvestre and Brown will only ever be bench warmers when everyones fit, you should have better players in your first team, Neville cant go on much longer though, Vidic has looked solid, though made a couple of mistakes this season (queue comments about Carra's handball ) Ferdinand i've never rated at all, doesnt seem to want to do the dirty work and is caught out of position far too often, and his pace cant always help him out of situations, Evra seems a very good left back, so i would think for next season definitely a right back needed, though i'm sure Fergie wont replace Rio (cost too much) unless a foreign team comes in and offers stupid money, cant believe what you spent on him
Definitely a good start, will have to wait and see how we manage with all the midweek games when injuries pile up as will fixtures, fingers crossed for everyone it goes to the end and we have a close race with several teams involved (or that Liverpool win it by March, i dont mind either way ) We're possibly a bit light at centre back, our youngsters arent quite ready yet, but Arbeloa could play there too, and has looked an excellent signing
Definitely need new blood in defence.. Though Vidic has impressed me a lot.. he does make stupid mistakes now and again, as do most.. usually out of frustration.. needs to keep his cool a bit more.. Ferdinand can be a bit of a clown but overall i think he earns his place.. (i can't believe how much we spent either).. Evra's doing fine.. i'd hoped O'Shea and Silvestre would have made more of an impact.. Although O'Shea looked like a good addition at one point.. not so much these days..
Can't see Chelsea over powering teams this season.. though that's not based solely on yesterdays game.. Arsenal are looking good at the minute....
At least it keeps it interesting... no run aways this season..

O'Shea's handy enough in that off the bench he can fill 3 or 4 roles, jack of all trades - master of none kind of guy, useful squad player though, competent enough.
Agree about Chelsea, i think they've been found out, Mourinho doesnt seem to have a proper formation for them, Malouda stank yesterday, dont know if its a one-off or not, SWP seems to be playing better, Coles not happy though being left out, i dont see how they keep everyone happy. His substitutions seem more like despeartion than tactical know how. Belletti looked good, Alex a bit less so but first game, teams just need to get stuck in, like Bolton do to you and Arsenal, which is why they often beat you, sadly its too hard for "lower" teams to outplay Utd and Arsenal, but put your foot in.... you could both do with a Mascherano/Sissoko type of player, i dont think Carrick or Hargreaves are the same, they work hard and maybe play better football, but wont put the boot in when its necessary, Mascherano in particular has amazed me, god knows what West Ham were doing not playing him.
Definitely looks an open battle, roll on December 15th
I've actually been quite impressed with Hargreaves in the last 2 games, although Mascherano is the best player in the world in that position. Why on earth are Man United not using Pique he is 10 times more talented than O'shea and Brown and yet never gets a look in. I can see him leaving real soon as Rossi did.
I'm not saying Hargreaves isnt good, i just think even they both probably labelled defensive midfielders i think Hargreaves isnt the same as Mascherano, and Utd could do with someone like Mascherano as well as hargreaves, but theyve enough trouble fitting in all their midfielders as it is!!
Agree about Pique, he'll end up back in Spain and be a world beater in five years for Madrid or Barca
Theres a bit of a shortage of decent CB's around at the moment or so it seems to me. I agree Rio is caught out of position too much though he didnt cost the 30m in the end as they managed to get it to around 15m i think in the end after leeds desperately needed some money early due to their financial problems rather than it being paid in dribs and drabs.
Interesting that Ferdinand is getting a bit of a pasting here, I'd sooner have him in my team than the paceless donkey that is John Terry. Ferdinand has a bit of pace and can pick out a pass, granted he's a complete pillock though. As for Utd, what's been said is quite correct, missing another ruthless striker, someone in the Anelka mould would have been perfect, cover at rightback and centre half is missing as well (Pique excepted).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Down with the conscious illiterati.
Tramps like us.....and we like tramps. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've always felt the need to defend Rio. I think he's England's best defender. He's reading of the game is so good he rarely needs to lunge in to make last ditch challenges. Yes, he is prone to the odd error but I think he's errors et blown up far more so than Carra's or Terry's. For example nobody mentions Liverpool's first half against Milan in Istanbul or Terry's numerous mistakes. Also, what I think is crucial to this argument is the formation of the respected sides. Carra at Liverpool often has Mascherano and/or Sissoko in front of the back four for protection, while Terry has the likes of Makalele, Essien Mikel et al doing similar jobs. Since United on the other hand before Hargreaves never played with a proper defensive midfielder since Keane's heyday the United defence is often more vulnerable and therefore the defenders look worse than they are at times. For example, in Istanbul in the second half Carra and co didn't suddenly begin to play better but the inclusion of Hamman in front of the back four made all the difference. Put Rio in Liverpool's or Chelsea's set up and you'll see he's equally as good if not better than Terry and Carra. In my opinion he has far more about him and is the complete defender though it's not fashionable to say so.

Still got the blinkers on then Plastic? And just to still focus on trying to get my back up? I would be flattered if I thought it was worth anything...keep going love! All I said was the truth...he was pretty good, and now he's gone, it seems he was total pants! For all round ability and versatility he will be missed more at the back and pushing on, than not. If that's Utd knocking, you obviously don't pay enough attention. Now grow up and drop the bitterness...tsk!
