Hah! I think his performances are going to do that on their own. Just hope we have the money, the sounds from Manny himself are good, he said he wanted to stay earlier this week in the Echo and that he was enjoying his football.

Thought I would revive this to rant... A really really poor performance from us on Sunday. I hope middlesbrough are going through some kind of amazing revival because if not we have just gone incredibly bad. I know we have a lot of top players out but there is more to it than that. That team should do better than it did and they looked like they just wanted to get back in the warm and out of the rain. The only thing worse than our teams performance was the referee's. Ignoring the penalty the two cards to Toure and Clichy after half time were utterly ridiculous especially given the number of times Rosicky was hauled down in the first half. Even more ridiculous because everyone in the country could see what Eboue did as well and he got away scot free. I really think referees need better education into what is and what isn't a malicious foul and a player being continuously hauled down by one player (I am looking at you Rochemback) in particular should warrant some kind of action rather than a one off. That said I cant describe how poor our performance was and a few players that have been demanding a first team place will have to try very very hard to convince me if they get many more chances. We really didnt deserve the goal to make it 2-1 either. [/rant]

Fair ranting Capt.
Though your three best players (Hleb, Cesc and RVP) were out you still should've beaten or at least put in a better performance.
Eboue just proved what dirty dirty dastard he is.

Those of us who watched Arsenal play Newcastle the other night detected the clue on how to beat them. Middlesbrough didn't give them room to play. Tuncay and Aliedaire (sp) have finally sussed out how to play.

That really annoys me because its skys turgid rubbish they churn out. Its not some kind of Sam Allardyce genius because other teams have tried it against Flamini and Fabregas and failed. The fact is that the replacements just arent as good. When Hleb has the ball he doesnt need room to play because i there have been very few players who could actually get the ball off him without fouling him this year. We will just have to hope they are back soon or we get to hear this rubbish game after game again. It shouldnt annoy me but it does. I would worry about Alliadiinjured learning how to score
