That's right; for all the running the had to do for Beckham, poor Wes Brown deserves 2 caps!

I can't believe that Capello gave in to the media hype & probably the bean counters at The FA to play a past-it Beckham.

Now, I'm not solely blaming Beckham, they were ALL average last night, but I'm focusing on Beckham/Brown as Brown plays for my team & I'm worried that he may have run himself into the ground at a crucial time in the season!

Beckham chose celebrity over football when he signed for a pub team & elected to play in a secondary school league & on that basis, there is no way he should even be a consideration for England; especially as proved last night, he can't run & his colleagues that play BEHIND him have to do all HIS running!

I'm not a Beckham basher: in fact, I'll always be in his debt, as it was his crossing that helped our strikers conquer England & Europe in 1998/9 to win an unprecedented Treble, but surely now, it's time to put David out to pasture & let him concentrate on being a Z list celeb & leave him to hob-nob with A list celebs in Hollywood, while the England team can rebuild & get some respect back, because all said & done, England are in disarray & that is more important than David Beckham's cap count!

Ref last night TBH you cant blame the players, they were playing out of position, out of formation, the whole set up to me was a joke, for me Bentley should have been given the start, I mean congrats to becks and all that, but i am getting sick of sentiment, lets get on with collating a team and a strong one at that

My opinion, once again for what it's worth, is that friendlies are worth less than sparrow's tears. I didn't watch it. They don't matter. In my twisted world they wouldn't get a cap for playing in one.

i like david he deserved his cap in my opininon his a good player and deserves to be in the team!!!!

Exactly my thoughts too. Its exactly where we should be having our players learn their new positions and formations and if they cant then they lose their place. The result matters not especially against strong teams like France. As far as my club is concerned I am happy if they all come back injury free.

The only thing it confirmed to me was that Calamity hasnt lost it.

You're right, Brown did not have one of his best nights that night, but it was probably exacerbated by the fact that he was having to do all of Beckham's leg work, whilst David was passing the ball around in the defensive 1/3 of the pitch.
