I'm going to a few HSV games this season, but I need some help from someone in going about buying tickets. I'm on the HSV database (I think) but I can't find out how to actually order the tickets, and this is where I need help.
Do clubs in Germany have a system where club members have a priority for booking tickets, as a lot of clubs have in this country? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I also noticed that HSV operate a category A,B,C scheme and, Bayern are Cat A, Hannover and Schalke are Cat B but, surprisingly, Werder Bremen aren't categorised, I would have thought they would be a Cat A game)
Yeah, Fowler's done the dirty on us. After £15k a week doing nothing, paying all his medical and travel expenses to fly round the world and him saying he will sign, he's gone.

Can you leave this with me for a few days Andy. My Hamburg friends are on holiday in Greece/Denamrk at the moment, but I will try to find out for you.
Capitalism is not dead (malheureusment) It just smells funny.
Try this site or go to their home page and press the english option. I have found the details of how many tickets are available for the Man City friendly.

Oh that's good! I texted my pals, but I will let them know you are sorted. (Why you should want to go there when you can be part of the St. Pauli experience [now with brand new stand] surprises me)

When I was at the fanpark in 2006, a St Pauli fan asked me the same thing (he spotted me with a HSV merchandise bag). We had a good chat about football for about half an hour, he was asking me which team I supported (I had my Cardiff shirt on) and asked me all about the division we were in and I did the same with him.
I've seen videos of St Pauli games and it looks like a carnival every game there. By the way their ground looked when I was there, I think they need that new stand!!!
Anyway Andy! I hope that you have a great time whenever you go. I was there a couple of weeks ago. Tis my favourite city. You must see if you can coincide with the Dom Festival (Three times a year, just by the Millentor) it's a great day out.

Martin Jol must be having a little chuckle to himself about Tottenham being bottom of the league and HSV top. Good luck to him and good luck to HSV, I'm thinking of having a cheeky little punt on them to win the Bundesliga.
Back on the original subject of this thread, I am now a member of HSV, or at least I'm on their ticket database and I'm able to order tickets for games now. I'm going to look at the fixtures and see who they've got at Xmas/New Year and mid-March. I was hoping to go to the Hoffenheim game at the Nordbank Arena, but it falls on the same day as Cardiff v Swansea at Ninian, and I'm not missing that one!
Thanks for the info, Joe. I forgot about the Xmas break. The game against Bayern looks tempting but I reckon that will sell out easily and quickly. I promised myself a game as a birthday treat for myself, so I may wait til nearer the end of the season
I've just been watching this week's 6pm highlights of (inter alia) Bayern München's latest hash up: gifting Bochum a draw afte being 3:1 up.
That was after listening to local radio coverage of my local Bundelsliga team - Eintracht Frankfurt - losing to TSG Hoffenheim, who are back at the top.
The Bundesliga's back to its entertaining best this year (ie. basically any year when BM haven't got the title on a plate). The on-going German defending problem provides goalfests .
My local team is in the bottom league and I sometimes go, often only for the second half (4 Eur) - remember when we could do that in the UK?
The National Team's in Cardiff, soon, isn't it? Are you going?
I've registered with bundesliga.de now so I can keep up to date with all the action. a good result for Hoffenheim today, but can they keep it going? Once they move into their new ground they will find it easier to push on and make a serious assault on the title?
Yeah, Germany are over here next april, they play here on my birthday in fact. But, the week after next, Wales have to play in Moenchengladbach. I went to the Wales v Germany game last time the Germans were here and I thought we gave Germany far too much respect. Schweinsteiger ran the show that night. I'm looking forward to both games in this campaign, but I will be supporting Wales on both occassions. Sorry! However, I do believe Germany can win the group
TSG are "bankrolled" of course. Not the usual promoted side who struggle and often go down again. So they may have a chance. It's an open field this season. Maybe VfB Stuttgardt again?
Two articles in the Sunday Times today - one about Jol and HSV (and Spurs) and the other about Klinsi and BM.
Yup, Wales are here next week. I agree with you about them not showing too much respect. Finland showed in the 3-3 draw how to get round the creaky German defence. They can't go on conceding at least 2 in almost every game and rely on one person bailing them out (Klose this time).
Germany v Russia is the clash in this group, of course, Saturday. Germany need a win after dropping those points in Finland.
Not read the Sunday Times (it's hard enough getting out of bed in the morning on a sunday. let alone walk to the paper shop when the papers are already in the house, bought by someone else, of course!) so I haven't read the article on Jol and HSV. I may log onto their site later, however. I have heard that Klinsmann wasn't entirely responsible for the good German performance in WC 2006, so maybe he's showing his shortcomings in the league this season? It would certainly suggest so.
I was looking forward to us taking on Germany and getting something next week. we have a good young squad and Toshack is making some good progress at the moment. Yesterday, we lost Joe Ledley through a groin problem and is looking doubtful. He's a big player for us, but Bellamy's back and, possibly James Collins, but, as they've both been out for so long, I'm not convinced by their match fitness. Certainly, Bellamy would give the German centre backs plenty to think about. Aaron ramsey is with the u-21's and I am a big advoicate of dropping Koumas and putting him through the middle. I just hope Koumas can stop being lazy and get a grip of the game, although it's probably too much to ask against Germany
Just a look at the German squad and I was wondering if I could get a German perspective on some things: with Metzelder left out due to his lack of games at Madrid, who do you think will be used as centre backs? I noticed Jermaine Jones has been picked. Do you reckon he'll be on the bench or do you anticipate him starting? The same for Patrick Helmes. I wonder if all his goals for Leverkusen will be enough to get him a starting spot? Is the reason Hildebrand not being picked the same reason as Metzelder not being picked? Is he out of favour? Has there been some sort of falling out between him and national coaches?
Good luck, Germany, but not too much good luck next Wednesday!
