I don't think too many of us are making the trip up there in the hope of getting too much out of it. If we play well and come back with something other thana 3 or 4 goal hiding, we'll be pleased. A win, well, who knows? Stranger things have happened...

it wouldnt surprise me if you won, we couldnt beat the blind school at the moment, although we'll have that chance December 15th!!

You absolute bunch of jammy tw@ts. Worst refereeing performance I've seen for ages. Kuyt should have gone for a kung-fu tackle. First penalty was dubious and we should have had two as well. How Carragher stayed on the pitch I don't know. So angry right now.

And Benetiz claims that Lescott dived. Absolute tripe. Yes, still fuming here. At least the media seem to be picking up the obvious bad quality/intentionally biased refereeing and not creaming themselves over a marvelous Liverpool comeback. It was nothing of the sort.

As much as I support Liverpool, Everton deserved 2 penalties.

Since when did Gerrard become a referees assistant as well. Advising what card should be shown - and the ref obliging. Glad to see the MOTD team were in agreement. Looking forward to the Liverpool fans coming on here to defend these decisions...

Lescott was very impressive yesterday, why could he not play like that during the week?
|
| |
|

|
Because McLaren told him now to cross the halfway line and play in Sol Campbell's pocket... It's the truth. Lescott was immense yesterday, one of the few positives! I'd like to see us try Baines ahead of him in left midfield, both are too good to only play one in the first XI.

i'll finally have my say. Re Gerrards penalty, it was a penalty, and Hibbert should have been sent off as he was the last man. I dont know what Clattenberg was doing reaching for his yellow, and i think its wrong if Gerrards changed his mind, but i think the red is the right decision and should have been shown in the first place. The second Liverpool penalty and Everton red card no-one can argue with.
I agree with Amanda that Everton should have had two penalties, although in the circumstances i doubt Carra would have got more than a yellow, it didnt seem a red card offence, in a crowded area like that you're never going to get done for being the last man, but definite penalty.
As for Kuyt, i have no idea why he jumped as he did, but he jumped towards the touchline rather than the man, and in my opinion was trying to block the ball up the line rather than hack the player, proven i think in that he didnt even touch the player, so i think the yellow was correct.
Overall i think 2-2 would have been a fair result, though if Everton had been given both penalties could easily have been 3-2 to them, although is it worth mentioning again what a quality penalty saver Reina is!!!

I think Gerrard went down very easily and arms flailing (both of them) aside, the only contact by Hibbert was outside the area. If he's giving the penalty then the red has to stand - so why pull out a yellow. And clearly, so clearly that it's undeniable, Stevie Me (the 5th official apparently...) got it changed to a red. Carragher should have got a yellow his furious tirade against the lino in the first half and could have had two more as well - one for each penalty decision. If you're giving two penalties, you're calling two fouls. Kuyt's tackle might not have made contact but by the letter of the law, if you dive in with both feet off the ground, you should walk. Neville could have made more of it, I'm not sure that Gerrard for one wouldn't have... I think a draw would have been a just about fair result but frankly, if anyone was more deserving of the three points, it was Everton. I see Clattenburg has been dropped for next weekend. Big move that - that'll teach him. He should never referee another top flight game, let alone one involving Liverpool.
