Think it'll be a great boost for the U.K. and it's capital of course...North London will improve alot ready for the Olympics...particular round Lea Valley...Pickets Lock...so only good can come from it....The tourists will come to London and back to all the tourist resorts around the country...more jobs....and a better future for the kids.

Seeing as the cost will be met by upping the council tax of London residents, regardless of if they are interested in sports, is a bit harsh...Also the goverment has chipped in to say the majority of the cost will be met by their contributions...
I wasn't aware the government had money..other than from taxes fom the British public...ie we are all going to pay for it! Montreal is still in debt from when they hosted it...in 1976!!!

Personaly, I think the best thing about winning it, was pi$$ing off a feck of a lot of French people! And for that alone, I am very happy!!!

Back on topic but still with the Olympics in mind - A GB football team will compete!

think it will work out to around an extra 38p a week on my council tax.I'm more than happy to pay it.....think most Londoners will be.
