New tyres anyone?

Have been taking great pleasure in the aussies inabillity to win at the mo...but seeing as the Ashes doesn't start till after Liverpool's season does, it sems to be a pretty quiet summer....

i wasn't complaining! .... the score put me 2nd in our works fantasy F1 league....
and i was the one moaning about having minardi drivers!

oops. i wont moan. i blame the whole thing on michelin

In BTCC they all have to use the same tyre...makes it a more even playing field!
Did anyone see last weekends race at Oulton? First 2 races were in blistering sunshine, then it pi$$ed down at the start of the third! Even without that it was a great day of races!

i dont like the weight penalties

They stop teams with lighter cars running away with it.
Make for fairer racing, as it's anyones guess who will win, and puts the onus on the driver and his skills, rather than just having a better car!

and keeps the championship open longer. what is the points scoring in touring cars??

In each race, the following points are awarded to classified finishers:
1st - 15 points
2nd - 12
3rd - 10
4th - 8
5th - 6
6th - 5
7th - 4
8th - 3
9th - 2
10th - 1

i - Pole position: One additional point will be awarded to the driver who starts on pole position for the first race of each meeting.

ii - Fastest lap: One additional point will be awarded to the driver setting the fastest lap in each race. If two or more drivers achieve the same fastest lap time each will be awarded one point.

iii - Race leader: One additional point will be awarded to each driver who is classified as the race leader (on crossing the start/finish line during the course of the race) during each race. A driver can only earn this point once, irrespective of how many times he or she has led that race.

The hearing on Wednesday? Not sure what one that is! Is it about the tyres? Perhaps you could fill me in!

yup. all 7 michelin teams were called up on bringing the sport into disrepute, and were all found guilty, but the fia wont say anymore till the 14th of september

Ah, yes! That one...guilty of 2 charges and not guilty of 3....and they anounce the punishment, when?
Right at the end of the season!
