It's been a while but for what it's worth I'll put my 2 cents in about the Everton game, though it feels like weeks ago since we played them!
Everton played really well in the first half and credit to them. They didn't let Arsenal have a minute on the ball and also were ambitious in trying to attack so I can partly understand why Moyes felt gutted about the result.
I, like CaptVimes, had the displeasure of watching the game on Setanta (I find it bizarre that the same company is setting up ArsenalTV by the way) and the commentary was definitely the most biased I have heard in a long time but such is life.
I thought it was really harsh how Moyes and the pundits/commentators tried to take the 4 goals away from us by saying that we had been gifted them.
As far as I'm concerned, it was a case of Arsenal taking their chances and Everton not (Yakubu header) which was the difference between the two sides. If Moyes wants to moan, he sit down and watch some Arsenal performances from the past 2 seasons. Great, flowing football does not guarantee you results.
In regards to Arteta's elbow, it was a straight red. Sol Campbell got sent off with what looked like tap from his arm on Ole Gunnar Solskaer a few years ago and it seems as if the precedent was set then. Cesc's dramatics were irrelevant in terms of the decision following Arteta's elbow. Speaking of dramatics and Cesc's broken jaw, I sincerely hope Phil Neville is ok after being dragged to the ground by that particularly nasty looking blade of grass.
Bendtner - should have been a sraight red, there was nothing nasty in it and I'm pretty sure Andy Johnson's shin was fine but it was reckless all the same. What I don't understand is why Everton fans are complaining about his 1 match ban as we are not playing you anytime soon and Bendtner only comes on as a sub in most games.
I lost a lot of respect for Moyes in his post-match interview, clearly a case of sour grapes and to say that the best team lost was laughable. Everton were the better team by far in the first half but when you concede 4 goals at home...how the manager can still think they were the better team is beyond me.
