think this will be a toughy, a real toughy, although fortress parkhead will play its part and we will have to hope the others take points of each other, plus a few points away.........

hee hee
we gave milan two tough games last season, so can do it again - overall over two legs we drew with benfica 3-3, the danger team is defo shaktar (think rangers have history with them from uefa cup???)
i think milan to go through top with celtic going through on goal difference.
thinnk all british teams except rangers will go through - too tough for the blue noses
Surprised Ronaldo weren't nominated for anything. Lyon are not the team they were so Barca's draw isn't bad. Arsenal have the easiest draw on paper, but you never know.

The votes were from the managers of the last 16 in last years CL. So maybe that should explain no Ronaldo, or did you mean Ronaldinho (thought he had a poor CL last year).
Not sure about the easiest after all there is Sevilla in there, on paper Liverpools looks easier but there are no easy CL games.

Ronaldo was among the candidates for Midfielder of the Year, along with Gerrard, Lampard, Pirlo, Gattuso etc but Seedorf won. I personally would have put Kaka in the midfielders section and given it to him and given the striker award to Drogba probably

Well, Rosengorg and Steua should really be 12 points for Arsenal. So that should see them through, the 2 games against Sevilla should be tremendous, can't wait, both teams love to attack and play the best football in Europe. Liverpool's group may be trickier then it seems, Porto with the likes of Quaresma are a decent team and pushed Chelsea close last year, Marseilles have some decent players like Samir Nasri and Cisse, and going to Turkey is never easy either, but I do expect Liverpool to go through.
I'd certainly have taken Marseille, Porto and Besiktas before the draw was made, if we cant get through that group we dont deserve to challenge. We usually do pretty well away from home in the Champions league, we need to score more at home, but it seems we have the players to do that this year. I would expect us to top the group with Porto second. What price Cisse scoring against us (he is at Marseille right?)
Arsenal and Sevilla to go through, Utd and Roma and Chelsea and Valencia. Barca, Stuttgart, Inter, PSV, Milan, Celtic, Madrid and Bremen.

Ronaldo was in fact up for the forwards awards along with Rooney, Drogba, Kaka, Totti and Villa
