On a brighter note PP have "The special One" and Big Phil as 5/1 joint favourites to take over

The facts speak for themselves. Our 2 toughest games in the group, away Croatia and away Russia and we didn't get a single point.

Shame there isn't some sort of trophy for talking up a country's chances at various sports - England would win it every year..

It's about time the English media admitted what most of us have known for years, not only are England not good enough to win the World Cup, but the European Championships are also out of their reach. I mean you had a fairly easy group, easier than Scotland's, and you're now having to rely on Israel to qualify! Fine individual players does not necessarily make a great team.

TBH if you go beyond the drunken and baffled journalists, you won't find many England fans who were confident about qualifying. South Africa, last time I looked, were 2/5 to win the Rugby cup, so it would be a miracle if England won. Not that I wouldn't celebrate

It is weird how quickly the mood changed last night, form having won the last 5 games 3-0 and coasting at 1-0 in Russia, within a few minutes we're heading for an exit.
Fact is we messed up in our only 2 tough games in the group and that is unforgiveable.

I know you were, those two games you could forgive losing looking at this group before it started. You cant expect to win every game just looking at other qualifying groups should show that. If we had got the points we should have from Israel and Macedonia then we wouldnt be in trouble.
