The majority of them are over 30 & they are getting beaten with alarming regularity.
Could we see the dismantling of the team in January or next Summer, with only HRH The Prince of Madrid (aka Beckham) remaining to keep shirt sales buoyant in Singapore????
I have to agree that they looked a shambles the other day. They seem to be going downhill and need some decent young players as the current squad is very old.
They have got great players in midfield and they have world class forwards but they need to sort out their defence. When Woodgate stars to play well and get settled in to the team then the defence might be better.
if you look at the two teams they are both full of quality attacking players, and slightly worse at the back, but barca's are younger and madrids are coming to the end of their careers
how can you compete with a team containing Deco, Xavi, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Giuly etc?? (though atletico madrid did ok a couple of weeks ago!!)
this is the last year for players like carlos and salgardo and mayb raul, in the transfer window cicinho will b coming for around £7m , who is going to replace carlos (ashley cole is a name going around in spain) so it will b a few season's to get the squad ready

John Woodgate is a good defender so that is not the reason for them to be in decline. They just need good solid defenders. Not defenders who always attack and can't get back to defend.
