Ok struggling to make this forum intresting so scraping the barrel here!!
If you could be a player, what position would you like to play. I think I would be a midfielder in the mold of Gerrard, so I would always be involved in a game both attacking and defenceively. I don't know why not a striker, probably because you would only be remembered for how many you scored, not how great a player you were. If a midfielder goes for a while without scoring it doesn't matter as much. No matter how well a striker plays, if he isn't scoring and your team aint winning, you'll get it in the neck sooner or later!
well i'm talentless, so i'd have to be a defender, although i like playing in goal. i think its good that defenders like Terry and Carra are getting more credit at the moment, all the awards usually go to midfielders or strikers.
If i could have endless talent i would have to be a flair player like ronaldinho, someone the fans pay to see, would love to be able to pick up the ball on half way and skip past 4 or 5 players and lob the keeper, that must feel amazing
good question ashes, it is getting a bit quiet on here
Is that politics, or position, Pro? I'd go with 'keeper...as I was one! On the up side, you don't have to run your socks off for 90 mins, and your playing career is longer. On the down side, you come in for more flack, as the best you can do is keep your side in a game, and rarely have the chance to win it for them...and you tend to pick up more injuries (29 broken bones to date!). TF I never played in the days when a forward was allowed to bundle a keeper into the back of the net to score!
The past is history...The future a mystery. This moment is a gift...That's why it's the present.
I'd also get paid £100,000 a week and donate half to charity. Also my boot deal will pay for a football academy in my area, where children come but have to do one hours homework first before they play!
I'm not vey good defensively, but lack the finish to be an out and out striker, I would probably play in the hole behind the strikers, ideally setting them up with audacious passes similar to those of Ronaldinho.

A familiar voice, and a good call! Maybe to add onto that, a fund for local amature sides to take on the seniors from said accadamy side, and develop them further with their first team?

Huh. People with these (initially) admirable qualities rarely stay as generous once they get into that circle of highly paid celebrity footballers. Plus if they're half decent looking they attract the sort of girl who wants it all (if she's not a high flyer herself) and wouldn't accept her bloke giving half his wages to charity.
You have to also take into consideration what your team mates would think of you.. probably laugh you off the training pitch.
These may seem Very harsh comments but if you look at the high pressured lifestyle of the Modern soccer player who's doing well -you have to admit that there aren't many who give loads of their dosh away to good causes, are there!
