Thinking of this current group, the group of death, and given the current political climate, I'd love to see Romania give Italy a nasty surprise.

2 nil so far to the men in Orange

What's Adriana complaining about. Two Polish forwards looked sharp enough and one of them even notched up a couple of goals . Well, Group C has livened things up after four very predictable results on the first two days. Doesn't it turn Italy - France into win or bust?

I know one thing now, Holland won't win the tournament

I was at each match and have the following memories: Switzerland - very boring can't even remember the score only that it was Switzerland Scotland - Scots miss a penalty and Gascoigne scores a pretty goal but otherwise a dour affair Holland - a dreadful Dutch display from a team in turmoil off and on the pitch, many years later it is said that there were serious issues behind the scenes in that Dutch team at the time with black and white players sitting at different tables. I remember at 4-0 England realising that this score would put Scotland through as well so they conceded a goal. Spain - dreadful match memorable for the ear-drum bursting whistling which swirled around the old cauldron during the Spanish penalties. I thoght at that game that ENgland would not lose in the tournament on penalties. Germany - amazing penalties, pure perfection. Again no memory of the actual match
I see, your obviously Scottish, England were pour in 96 because they beat Holland 4;1. Germany were pure perfection because they beat England on penalties, but you don't remember details of the match. You seem very confused and bitter .

Very good hat trick by David Villa.
Spain again impress but can they keep it up for once!?

Many years later? we were talking about this at the time. There have always been problems with divisions in the Dutch side, it comes with their supreme arrogance. They seem ok at the moment (I think) but it remains to be seen whether they can go a whole tournament without imploding

It's nearly time to go again, Germany vs Croatia this time. But I won't see it as I'm working . The German public are a fickle lot. After the weekend, everyone was convinced Portugal are going to win. Now Holland are dead cert winners .

I will watch it on your behalf and cheer on the 'schland. Do you want me to drink any bier on your behalf?

Cheers . As much as you like . I don't think Germany will have a problem tonight. I'd like to see Klose mixing it more. He seems a bit off sorts and ineffective at the moment. Hope I'm proved wrong (or at least that the others make up for it).

A repeat of the weekends 2-0 scoreline I think, Klose and Podolski to score

I'm buying a German dictionary tomorrow in my attempt to tray and teach myself German so I'll know exactly what all that means!! 2-0 tonight, fellas, a bit of a setback. I thought Schweinsteiger was foolish but unlucky (the Croatian player taking a leaf out of his coach's book in play-acting to get his opponent sent off) and the Germans never got a grip of the game in my opinion. Not sure how much longer Low can persist with Gomes though, another anonymous performance

Bis spaeter = 'til later, or see you later. Bis bald = 'til soon, see you soon, see you in a bit. tscheuse = tra well. What a disaster, although I was the only one in our competition to pick a Kroatien win. I always tip with my head and never my heart.

What the heck (to put it politely) happened then ? Defeat . *And* gelb-rot for Schweini . What did he do? The on-line press is already going ballstic here. I all it means though is playing Portugal one round earlier though - but with a lot of the credibility built up recently shot to shreds.

He was professionally wound up. He should not have reacted.

Yes, the first real test of Jögi's time in charge. I wonder if Kuranyi will come back? As I've said several times already, Klose also seems below par to me. PS -I'm not a fella .

I see. I almost asked in my earlier post: "Did he do a Beckham" . As in golden boy messing up big time when it mattered.
