Jewell is not happy with Spurs and has blasted us, saying how we wouldnt increase our bid for Chimbonda even after they dropped their asking price from £6m to £5.25m paid in installments, he has said that we have just made all this money on Carrick and cant have it both ways. Wigan paid £400,000 for Chimbonda, i think they were just trying to get as much as possible, you cant blame them for that, but we never blasted Utd because they never went to £20m for Carrick. I can only see Chimbonda's price going down now.

If Tottenham don't want to pay £6m for Chimbonda, then they don't have to. I think £5.25m is more than fair for a player who's only had 1 good season in the Prem. He wasn't exactly outstanding in the French league otherwise Wenger would have spotted him, I'm sure. On the one hand, managers moan about how transfer fees are going up, but then Jewell says this sort of thing. You can't have it both ways

Chimbonda and his agent are furious, they say he only signed for Wigan for one reason, that they would let him go for £1.5m if a big club came in for him, and that it was a gentlemans agreement, then Spurs came in for him and was told it was £6m, so Spurs put in a £3.5m bid for him, so the amount went up to £6.3m, Spurs then said they could have £3.5m plus two players, but Wigan wanted cash only up front, so when Spurs started to back down the price dropped to £5.25m, but Spurs had enough by then and pulled out. Wigan was just trying to get as much money as possible but went to far, now Jewell is complaining because he is left with a player who doesnt want to be there, and has publicly had a dig at Jewell, so Jewell has said that if need be he will stick him in the reserves, because he doesnt want a player causing bad blood, im sorry but Jewell only has himself to blame, there is no need him shouting his mouth off, just because he wanted money for other players and it didnt come off.

So is he gonna "rot" in the reserves like the chairman said.

There is no winners in this situation, Spurs are without the right back they wanted, Wigan are without a potfull of money for a player not worth that amount, plus Jewell has put himself into a corner, if he plays him he has a player who will be booed and not give 100%, not good for the team, he sticks him in the reserves and loses money, or he goes back to Spurs with a reasonable price, which makes him look weak. I think Jewell has shown inexperience at the top.

The thing that has shown Jewel up is signing Heskey for 5.5 mil, now that is stupid.
Heskey 5.5m, should be more like 2.5m.
There is no way he will get over 4m for Chimbonda in January.
