He was weaned out of the club by Mazzone. Benched until his contract expired and sent packing. Sad really, seeing as he'd do a job now.

First new player signed by Bologna: Lamberto Zauli from Samp. Great signing. Lets hope he has the same impact he did back in 2002!

Yep off to the pub to watch it.

Also going over for the Pescara game next week, hopefully a couple of victories to start the new year.

Forza Bologna

I guess most of us saw the game - Bologna are dire at the moment. WAY too negative, weak and even nice in a division which requires direct, fast, attacking football to escape from.
We will never move back to A while we continue with this type of football. It was noticable that the commentators were a bit scathing of Bellucci for missing 2 half chances. To me it was more a sign that if he isn't going to score, Bologna aren't going to score.

Contrast our performance to Atalanta - Cesena the next day on Rai ( yes, I am that sad Wink ). Good direct football from both sides, 2 decent teams both going for the win and promotion. This is what we need to strive for.

Bit harsh on Bellucci. He's the only thing the club's got going for it at the moment.

I suppose this all raises questions about the manager. Why appoint someone who steered Atalanta to an emphatic relegation last season scoring only a handful of goals in the process? Answer that and you can earn a seat on the selection committee panel.

0-0 at Pescara today. Goals flying in from all angles, it seems.

At last a win. Bellucci scores both as a 2-1 triumph at home to Verona is complete, albeit in the last minute.

We'd be in deep poo without him.

Finally the win we kinda deserve. Stunning bicycle kick by Bellú to get the promotain campaign back on track.

Promotion campaign? Didn't know there was one but your optimism is top class.

Was going to say the same thing, I'm afraid promotion hopes disappeared around the beginning of December.
The rest of this season is about avoiding relegation, and building on what we have for (hopefully) a promotion push next.
imo a hard, strong midfielder or 2, a big strike partner for Belluci and a left winger must be top of the requirements list.

Agh ! Not ebing able to edit posts is a pain.

Also wanted to say imo it's not that we haven't replaced Signori, but more that we haven't replaced Cruz, who was another very real threat to take the attention off Signori.

Now if we had similar to Cruz now to give Bellucci a bit of room ........

Basically, we need half a team to compete in Serie B. None of the last two years has made any sense.
