Well Liam i know Juve and Piacenza have a strong affinity but to be honest with you Juve's future is all too secure and predictable.

Agostinelli at Piacenza on the other hand is forced to find the right blend of youth and experience without the financial backup Lippi has. The price of failure will be extremely high for the club.

In some ways i hope the purchase of Grabbi will not be necessary with the strikers we have finding the net on a regular basis. On the other hand hes looked like a good player on the telly when he has played for Blackburn.

Maresca if he can stay fit may find out just how good he can be this season with a regular first team place- probably too risky for Juve.

Back in London now. Piace played really well against Juve. Maresca was excellent, as was Tramezzani. Mangone also played well. Lamacchi, well, Lamacchi was Lamacchi! I must say, Guardalben does look a bit suspect in "real life" - he could have got to Nedved's shot had he reacted in time - I was right behind it.

I guess the team that started against Juve was what Agostinelli thinks is his "formazione tipo". Still not sure about Cristante as a right "wingback" - the times I have seen Gurenko play there for Piace he has looked OK. I also think that if Guardalben makes another mistake, Orlandoni will get a start.

Hubner needs a goal, and quickly. Even a penalty. However, I do wish he would concentrate on scoring goals instead of arguing with the referee and linesman all the time.

As for the Maresca at Piace situation, I was told by one of the Ultra' that Moggi sent Maresca to Piacenza for a year in punishment for his celebration for scoring the goal in the Turin derby... (sort of 'sent to Coventry', as it were!)boh! Let's hope he does more such celebrations, so we get to keep him a little while longer... also let's hope they don't call him back during the transfer window. Maybe if they let us has Sculli in exchange...

Maresca is the heart of our team - a definate for an Azzurri call-up against Turkey. (What a pity he will play well and probably keep Trap his job!)

What has happened to the "twinning" of the Juve and Piace fans? They were very against each other the other night - can anyone explain...? How come the sets of fans have fallen out with each other?

Anyway, Forza Fish Cats.

The problem with the national team is that now in his role plays Pirlo... Hope Trap opens his eyes...
There are also two world class defenders that should play for the azzurri.....Cardone and Lamachhi!
The played brilliant tonight. Again. Always first on the ball...against people like Cafu Totti etc...
Maresca's goal was a buty.
Sorry for Hubner...I knew he was going to miss it!
I am pissed off with Tramezzani. It was fair enough to take him off for another striker (Caccia) when we were 0-1. He shouldn't have made that swearing show... He hasn't played for over a year, and now that he's got his place back in the first elevens, he complains for being substituded in the second half...?! C'mon...
Overall Piacenza tonight shows all its strenght and all its limits.
Hopefully this point will bring some fresh air in the squad.

Ivano I'll explain you about the twinning on another post... Need a sleep now.

Yeah, Piace played well. I expecially agree about Lamacchi and Cardone. Even Mangone played well.

Tramezzani was very upset at being substituted - I think he will be fined again now, and after patching up his differences with the management, looks certain to be sold.

Hubner should be dropped now - he is out of form and just needs to sit on the bench and come on during the game, with the hope that he can turn the game and get his confidence back.

I still don't like Cristante on the right - he is too defensive, and, as showed in the first 2 games of the season, if we attack teams we can beat them. Once Caccia came on for Tramezzani we did look like getting back into the game.

maresca was brilliant. If Trap doesn't call him up to the national team now, it will be a scandal.

Is it impossible for three Piace players to be picked for Italy in the same match?

Wouldnt the Italian press go berserk?

I dont think im being biased in saying that Lamacchi and Cardone are arguably better than Pannucci and Materazzi (even though his father seemed like a good guy)

Perhaps they will get a chance but i think it more likely that Maresca will be picked and that will be it.

Somehow i cant see Trap taking that sort of chance. confused

Lamacchi and Cardone both deserve a national team call up - especially Lamacchi - but there is no way that will happen.

Maresca has been playing brilliantly since coming back from injury, and played even better before he lay-off - he should be guaranteed a call-up for the Turkey game, however he is a Piace player...

Modena on Sunday could be a bit tough. We should be able to get a point and get our season staring again. There is no way we should be on only 8 points at the moment - we are a far better team than that.

this is the worrying thing- 8 points with good form does not augur well for harder times ahead with the inevitable drop in form every side has.

Hope 3 points is not too much to ask for. Dont know much about Modena, but am hoping some attacking tactics can bring home an already crucial win.

Forza Fish Cats!

We have 8 points only because we played 4 games without Maresca, because we don't have a proper right wing, because Hubner got stuck, because Agostinelly made some silly decisions and because we have been a bit unlucky...
But again this is our destiny...suffering and struggling until the end.... But once again will make it!
Forza Piace ole'!

We do seem to be lost without Maresca, and unfortunately Hubner just cannot score. At this stage last season he was leading goal scorer. We should really have tried harder to keep Gautieri.

Tramezzani is in trouble again - Agostinelli is not forgiving him for his actions when being substituted on Saturday.

Modena are a very attacking team - they are quite good, but not unbeatable.

I know Tramezzani is well liked but i have the impression he cant keep his mouth shut. Everyone deserves a second chance though.

Unfortunately he may be the next in a long line of pros who are made an example of how not to do things in front of a young squad. Sounds like for the teams benefit he should calm down but stay in contention for the first 11 if Tosto has been that bad.

Any comments on Garilli?

Recent reports have suggested that the Garilli's wants to sell Piace - have no idea who would be interested in buying though! With Lazio and Chievo also up for sale, Piace doesn't exactly spring to mind as a good prospective purchase!

Perhaps our sponsors, LPR, could invest in us, although that could be a very short term and damaging schenario.

We certainly play better with Tramezzani than Tosto - although Tosto did play well after coming on against Roma. I know people close to Tramezzani from his Tottenham days - they tell me he isn't exactly the most intelligent of footballers... Agostinelli got Tramezzani for Pistoiese to end his Tottenham nightmare, so the manager is well aware of what he can do. It's a difficult and delicate situation at the moment. Tramazzani sat out training yesterday.

We really have little alternative at left back, other than Tosto - perhaps Boselli, although we do have an Italian Under 19 international called Abbate who plays on the left. (However, he picked up an injury in training yesterday.)

Hubner also sat out the training session - Agostinelli played Caccia and Zerbini, with Montano on the right in place of Cristante. Sounds good to me...

But Boselli (I don't like him)and Abate are more players for the 3 defenders line, while Tosto and Tramezzani play on the left of the 5 midfileders line. Tramezzani is home today, so should Tost injure himself (touch wood) you can only play Di Francesco on that position. I would panic with Boselli on the left wing!!!

About Garilli I don't think he really wants to sale. He always says that when he's p***ed off with the local reality. Over the last week there have been some tensions between club and supporters, and the Collovati-Tansini management don't really help to fix things. Garilli loves the team but doesn't really know much about it. It's all in the hand of the two above mentioned. And to be honest I miss the way things used to be dealt by Garilli senior and the manager Marchetti.

Anyway, time to go to watch the game.... Nice memories from the lower divisions Modena-Piacenza derbies...! Today we got to win... (Montano on the right...sound alright!!!)

Bisogna vincere.....lalala!!!

Bad result today. Maresca didn't seem to get us going, which I think we can put down to Trap not calling him up for the Azzurri. Thre lad must have been well depressed! What does he have to do to get the call. How he can pick Nervo, Legrottalie and Corini instead of Cardone, Lamacchi and Maresca I will never know. Just hope Italy get hammered against Turkey!

I have seen bad decissions in my time watching football, but that Modena penalty must be the worst ever! There was absolutely no contact in the penalty area.

Also, there was a blatant penalty for us in the second half, for a tug on Cardone whern he would have reached a cross, and the ref missed it completely!

Oh well, Torino next week. We had better start waking up soon - we carry on like this much longer and we will be in the bottom 4...

well this is pretty grim. sounds like Di Francesco or somebody is going to have to pick it up and take the pressure of Maresca. The games keep coming... they are going to have to start winning at some stage otherwise its going to be an extremely cold winter...

nice editing Channel 4- frankly i'm shocked!

We have the players and the squad to be higher up the league. It may be that the team has no faith in Agostinelli. He certainly hasn't got all the faith of the management team at Piace - looks like unless we beat Torino, he will be in trouble.

am sorry to hear that. seems like Agostinelli had the right idea at the beginning. if there are people in his backroom team making noises behind his back then he's in trouble.

what are the main complaints: gurenko or cristante? tramezzani or tosto? something more serious mad?

thats bad news.

Not sure what the compliants are about, just that there were big meetings behind the scenes yesetrday. Agostinelli even met up with some of the Ultra.

We started off playing really open, attacking football, but agostinelli has got more defensive now. we should start attacking teams again. I don't mind if we lose and even get relegated this season, just as long as we go down fighting. I don't want to see pathetic displays like those against Empoli and Modena, but want to see performances like those against Inter and Juve.

I don't like Cristante playing wide on the right. I think Gurenko has played well enought since being dropped to start there again. And what has happened to Campagnaro? I thought he looked good when he started, but hasn't even figured on the bench for a while.

Not sure what is happening with Tramezzani again. Hopefully both he and Agostinelli will stop sulking by the Torino game. We just have to pick up 3 points on sunday.

Finally, a victory! Unfortunately, Lamacchi was sent off, which means he will miss the Lazio game next Sunday. Guardalben back in form, now we are only waiting for Darione - Agostinelli should drop him, just to give him a kick up the rear!
