Letters from Juventus football club (and it's various representatives) threatening legal action for a whole host of 'infringements'.

All in all, 2005 has been a pretty cack year. Wish you guys all the best for 2006. I intend to spend every day from now until 1st Jan, in the cold embrace of the Green Fairy.

Micky, good to see you back in full flow. By the by, you should skip Abu Dhabi unless its for business. There's fook all there. Dubai is down the road, and it's nothing short of heaven on earth. Although, everything is cheaper in Abu Dhabi. Roll Eyes Let me know if you want some info on where to go etc; i lived out there for about a year or so....

I was thinking the same thing this afternoon. Good to see you around, dude! Big Grin Wink

And you too, DP. Myles left us some mysterious posts a couple of weeks back about you not being around much and pulling out of the MPC Championship?

Everything cool?

My cousin had to get a rabies jab in France once, a dog bit him, and I week later we were back in the same hospital again cos the plank had managed to get a barbed fishing hook stuck in my palm. The hospital was all very nice and clean etc but it looked like something out of Frankenstein or an institute, all high ceilings and gothic arches and mustard coloured walls. They didn't speak any English, and my French extends to about 'deux baguettes, sil vous plait' so I didn't know if they were going to lop my hand off or something

A book called 'The Last Tommies' which deals with accounts from the longest-lived survivors of the Great War. Fascinating reading.

Firstly, thanks for the nice words.

As regards Abu Dhabi, it was a toss up between there or Muscat. We are looking for somewhere slightly less commercialised than Dubai, which I am led to believe is nothing but a building site at the moment, with cranes outnumbering people.

Any advice on good restaurants and shopping (apparently one of the biggest mall's in the world is there?) would be appreciated. We are staying at the Hilton. Can't wait!

Suzuki GS500. Not a bad commuter/starter 'big' bike. Beats 99% of cars off the lights, will do around 115mph (not with me on it, though) and 50+mpg.

Unfortunately, tonight as I'm driving to work, it decides it's going to play up. Making me ride back home at around 40mph on the North Circular to pick up the missus' car Frown. Hopefully will be fixed tomorrow.

Have no idea Frown being as mechanically minded as my missus, which is, er, not a lot. Though saying that, I did tighten up the chain a couple of days ago with no help Smile. What kind of Yamaha you got? Organ? Big Grin

Did it drop in power rather suddenly? Had it been sat out in the cold for quite sometime? If so, it was probably carb freeze, very common at this time of year.

Go to Halfrauds or any motor shop and buy some 'Wynn's Dry fuel' and drop it in the tank, take it a run for few miles.

No, I dont have an organ, I have a proper "big bike" Razz Big Grin

Not really sat out in the cold. I keep it in the shed which, although it isn't heated, keeps the weather off it. Started it today to take it to be sorted out and at first it wouldn't do more than 25mph Eek. Then it decided to clear itself so that by the time I got to the garage it was working almost fine Confused. They gave it a full service in the end but obviously couldn't find a problem. Works fine now.

What's your 'proper' big bike? I like the look of a Yamaha Thundercat for my next one, but I'll give it a little while yet. Still a novice Wink.

Really sounds like carb freeze to me mate, did the garage not mention that to you?

Thundercat is perfect first big bike (I know because I have one and its my first big bike), no disrespect but the GS isnt really a big bike, its more a learner bike, the cat has more than twice the horsepower of the GS, and is a very different experience to riding the little GS

Sizewise its much much bigger and feels a lot heavier, the performance is ridiculous (starship enterprise compared to GS), naughty side of 160MPH where legal.. the best thing about the Cat is the comfort, I regularly go out with my mate on his R6 (he cant lose me, not a ball hair in the performance difference - same engine) and after a 100 mile run I can get off and be fine, he gets off and is crippled. I can also do about 180 miles to a tank if I'm gentle.. Best ran on Optimax can really feel the difference compared with 95ron, ride it hard petrol light flickers on about 140 miles to your 12 quid.

Only poor things are crap headlight and clunky gearbox (but all Yam's are famous for this! R6 feels even worse!)

Highly recommend one. Get it in blue, really looks the part! Great owners club too!

Quite fancy going all out for a Hayabusa next myself Eek

Or maybe an R1 hmmmm Cool

Be safe out there though mate, I felt the back sliding away today ...respect to ya though, at least your not a fair weather funster Wink

With a three year old and a 5 month year old in the house best present was a cracking pair of FM headphones. Now where's that new CD . . . . " sorry sweetheart didn't hear the baby crying or the toddler moaning . . . how long have you been calling me from upstairs . . . crikey these headphones you bought me are brilliant". Razz
