Herb, you're right about Cassetti - not sure how I managed to look at the Gazzetta profile and think he was young. Still, he was only 29 yesterday and an international, so if we get three years out of him at his peak that is not bad for a freebie.
Mido back at the Olimpico? Dare I say I think he's always had something quite Roma about him (probably the fact that he can't control his emotions and gets sent off all the time). I'd rather we got shot of him, but if he is in the squad next season I think there's just a glimmer of hope he might actually do something good.
As for the Everton reject, perhaps we can sell him at the Porta Portese on Sunday?

What about this Raul story? Personally I never really liked him as a footballer and thought he was a tad overrated but IF he was to go to Roma and score a hatful of goals that opinion might change.
I'm torn over the Raul link. I think he is a genius of a player but he seems to have faded badly over the last couple of years. He was never quick but is markedly slow now.
I read an interesting stat about Raul today. He's never scored from open play against any of the big footballing nations, drawing blanks against England, Brazil, Argentina, France, Holland and Portugal. He got a penalty against Italy, and that's it.
Apparently some Spanish fans think he is holding their national team back and should be replaced by Torres.
Raul should NOT be in our plans. If Real are getting rid of him, they must know he is finished as a top tier player. He has faded, and we need somebldy better leading the line.

I dont believe for one minute that Raul will join Roma.. I think its sad that Tommasi is struggling to reach an agreement with Roma.. he may be past his best but for everything he has done for Roma Im sure they can afford 200 000 euro a year for him....
Why are we buying Julio Sergio if Zotti and Pelizzoli are still owned by us and are set to return..how many goalkeepers do we need on our books?! Are we trying to own all goalkeepers in Serie A?!

I'm surprised we're not offering Tommassi a decent deal. I thought he was pretty good this season. I actually don't think he lost much to his game with that injury, despite being out a long time.
According to the C4 article about Chivu going to barcelona (please god no!) Mido has no part in Spalletti's plans and is in talks with Blackburn. But this is all I know about it.
