Hello all,

I am staying in Florence with my girlfriend for the weekend. Wanted to watch some Football Italia but didnt want to travel too far.

I know the Viola are away this weekend, can anyone suggest the game which

a) will be close by train
and
b) will have tickets available after the recent restrictions

Grazi!

Empoli V Roma is open to season ticket holders (Empoli) only. Livorno V Messina are not letting the pubic in but i think you can go to and Siena v Milan.

Siena v Milan is a good option, as you can use the excuse of sightseeing in Siena as a distraction - it's a wonderful city, although the route from Florence to Siena is a bit longwinded by train.

Empoli is a 5hithole and best avoided.

Think we are going to head for Bologna as we were thinking of going there anyway, even more reason if we can catch a game there as well!

Thanks Everyone!

There's a coach to Siena from beside the Train station SMN in Florence, think it's about 2.5 hrs on the coach.

The train to empoli is about 30mins on the regional train and is regular, think every 15mins or so. about a 20min walk from the empoli train station and if you take a right at the last junction just before the stadium, then on your left about 200 meters is where Empoli FC sell the tickets on the day, you'll need passport, queue was about 1hr for a Juve game so get to Empoli about 2 hrs before the kickoff.

You have to go up to the top of the Duomo in Florence, it's very good, but dress light as it's alot of steps. Entrance is from the side of the Duomo and is only about 6 euro. Bring your camera.

To get into the David without queuing go to the exit and say these exact words "Amici di Moira" it's the password, you skip the queue and avoid paying. It means "Friend of Moira", but you must say it exactly.
