Disappointed

GTTMMH:

1. Rangers beating Celtic. This always pleases me. Naturally.

2. Backing 25/1 winner on the horses.

3. Walking home from work with a guy I really really fancy. Its the first time I've had a proper conversation with him.

Good day all in all.

Good to see you still around these parts, Nige.

Yes, I was there today. The fans really did try to get behind them today and created a wonderful atmosphere with the scarf-waving. But it was the same old story. And I knew Vassell would miss his penalty. Did you go today?

Yes I went..The atmosphere was terrific..In fact it makes you wonder what it would be like if we were actually any good !!The potential is there but sadly the key pieces of the jigsaw aren't (manager-money-players)
And yes , my heart sank as soon as I knew Vassell was taking the pen..why not Dickov..I can't recall him missing a penalty for any of his clubs..
Good things make us happy...the fans of Manchester City who despite everything across the road in Stretford still have the dignity and integrity to carry on supporting their club , who along with Athletico Madrid, Espanyol,Torino and to a lesser degree Everton are the most difficult clubs in the world to support....

You forgot about Inter Wink

Dickov would have been my choice as well. But there is one penalty miss of his that springs to mind - Gillingham, Wembley '99

GTTMUH - pretty good footballing weekend! Bristol City going up to the Championship - ever the pessimist I was expecting a bizarre loss to already relegated Rotherham and bang down into the play offs we go - and then go on and choke in them like City tend to. But no! We're up nae bother! Have to say as well I'm pleased for Rovers getting in the play offs - mainly because it's about time a city the size of Bristol had clubs doing more than scrapping around the bottom two divisions all the time. Rangers beating Celtic - nuff said. I saw the highlights of Villa's game and they were looking on fire - Berger's goal was a beauty. I suppose finally United winning the league - don't particularly like Chelsea or United that much but in terms of football style played I'd far rather United win the thing.

Yeah, I'm hoping Rovers go up too. There was a fantastic atmosphere around the city when the JPT games were on, it would be good if the two clubs can increase their fanbase by moving up the divisions.

Good season for this area of the country, with Swindon being promoted and Yeovil also in the playoff final.

hello MLV - yeah it's been a good season all round for west country football. Cheltenham stayed up too which is an achievment for them. Yeovil did absolutely brilliant! 2-0 down from their home leg, go away to Forest and win 5-2! My mate went up and said it was the best game he's ever been to. Imagine Yeovil in the Championship - nice! As for Forest - next season will be their third in the third tier, blimey. City going up was great - I'm confident about next season, I really believe we can quite easily consilidate our position - the Championship seems a bonkers division, maybe we could even get near the play offs! The Gas have done really well over the last bits of the season - for ages they looked like another 13th/14th finish but after the JPT final they went on a great run. It is good for the City - It’s good to see more kids about with City and Rovers shirts on – the two clubs get good support already but the potential is there for both to really grow – I think the bloody players have finally realised they need to do their part now and actually do something on the pitch for fans to get excited about!

Hearing good old James Richardson on FiveLive discussing tomorrow's final. Uefa have got him to compere a series of classic football clips during the build up to the game in the stadium.

Yeah I think City could do OK in the Championship next season. I think the team definitely need new recruits - I hope Gary Johnson will be given enough money to get some good players in. I remember reading a 'Football Rich List' in a magazine (FourFourTwo?) earlier in the season, and both Steve Lansdown and the vice-Chairman (forgotten his name) were both up in the top 30, so there's obviously money there, just a question whether they want to invest any. I think a couple of new defenders, a new midfield player and a forward are needed - maybe loans from Premiership clubs? But from the few games and highlights I've seen, I think Basso, McCombe, McAllister, Noble, Murray and Jevons are up to playing at Championship level - maybe a couple of others too?
