Ok, so I've got used to the annoying crappy adverts on the main news site for Football Italia.

But now, they seem to have spread to the forum. I was just trying to read a post, and I got a bloody advert springing up in front of the text.

I appreciate the need for adverts, but do they really have to be SO in your face?

Did you hear the one about the advertising exec who pleaded for his company to publish subtle, out of the way adverts?

No me neither, that's why they're adverts.

I hate them too by the way, I've just got sick of complaining about them on this site.

And just as I read this post.. that effing cat ad appears... *gets gun*

There's one site (it's something like The Times or The Independant) where it actually takes you to a full page advert before it lets you see the page you requested.

Pop-ups are a pain, but linking to another page so you can be 'inspired by the new Citroen Flangé MPV' before letting you see the article you want is way beyond reasonable...

The more adverts, the less I can be bothered to read the actual thing - and the less time I spend on the website. If everyone else feels the same way, the number of views the website has, and therefore the less money they'll get from the "sponsors".

Just thought I'd mention how much they p*ss me off.

Mozilla Firefox is a convenient way of thwarting a good deal of advertising, and one of the reasons I went over to using it was this forum and C4's increasingly intrusive advertising efforts here...
