Channel 5 has snapped up the rights to screen highlights and has the option for live matches from the 07/08 campaign too.

Sounds promising - although anything would in the current situation. One can only hope that they have the sense to approach Sir James of Richardson to host/present their show and complete the return of the league to a (fairly) widespread audience in the coming season.

It looks set to be a great season in store. Smile

Its all linked to Juve (15 million supporters worldwide)

They drop from serie a and viewing figures drop drastically (and serie be goes up by the same amount)

Now theyre back in Serie A and viewing figures will rise again Smile

Being shot by Bing Crosby's daughter would be quite a psychologically damaging experience, I'd imagine...

Does Five do internet fora? If it does, it might spell the end of this one. I can't imagine that the number of hits sustained here are as near as they once were (one thing which sustained the forum when the coverage went), and a forum elsewhere, if properly maintained, might kill this one off...

If we move, lets all move together Smile! Think of what a shock THAT would be to the Mods at CH4.

Well I won't be moving anywhere. This is home. The landlord has come in and made some dreadful buiilding alterations, but it's still home. I'm looking forward to all the other tenants moving out and not having to read any more dreary blather about Italian football.

No doubt the Channel 5 forum will soon be full of abuse from folk demanding to know why C5 are refusing to show live matches, given how commerically appealling they would be.....

Great news Smile

Im actually more interested in decent highlights of all the games rather than one or two live games a week, both would be nice though Cool

AC Milan's site has said it'll be one live game a week plus a highlights package. As long as it has James Richardson sitting in sunny piazzas reading la gazzetta and leaving his ice cream sundaes untouched, I'll be happy.

Great news indeed.

Now let's just hope Tinopolis hire James. Perhaps we should email them to suggest as much...

Excellent news! I no longer have Sky so this is an extra bonus because now I can watch at least one live football match instead of lots of highlights where I already know the score.

James Richardson has just been on Talksport, talking about the U21's match v England tonight. He was asked about the Channel 5 deal, and said that he hadn't been contacted, and didn't think he'd be involved, as they hadn't asked and he is already busy!! JR said that Colin Murray would probably be the presenter.

Noooooooo please! Please don't say that it's gonna be Colin Murray. It HAS to be JR.

*Ponders starting facebook group complaining about it*
