Hey people, I know I have not been here in eons, but University life just takes far far too much time out of me. I still follow my calcio however, just as closely as before.. World cup final was even on my Birthday !
Anyway, me and a friend are planning a EURO 2008 trip and I know that the tickets go on sale on march 1st. However, if we book tickets, we have no idea what game we will be seeing. I really would like to actually see an italy game so do any of you have any ideas on how I can guarantee this? I got my girlfriend (she speaks italian) to call the FIGC and they were not helpful at all and told me that thry cannot give any information or advice until next month. How can I go about this? Also, how quickly do you all expect tickets to sell out etc? Do you also know the ticketing system? ie. can I hold tickets without having to instantly buy them? I am also clueless as to how much a ticket would cost. Any ideas on how much for a first round game, quarter final , semi etc? Just estimates would be fine. Thank you so much! Nicolas
Well I have read all the info UEFA has to offer but it isnt very extensive at all. I does not quite detail how the entire ticketing process words. I know people however who booked tickets to follow specific teams around once they qualified, how can I do something like this for Italy? Thanks
For the World Cup in Germany you could apply for team packages, that allowed you tickets for each match that country played.
There is nothing on the UEFA wbsite about this at present - I suppose you'll have to wait until next week when the sale process opens, it doesn't appear to be on a first come, first served basis.
If its anything like the last euro's then you will be able to get tickets for games against small nations nearer the time. You had to pick tickets up 24 hours before the match which was a bit of a shame if you wanted to watch a another gane. Also the world cup allowed you to swap tickets while changing the name on them. The only problem was you had to pay for it!
My cousin actually went to the WC and he told me he managed to actually pick up some scalper tickets and they never actually checked his ID or name on the ticket when he was going into the stadium.. apart from the 3 tickets in his name for 3 Trinidad games, he still went to 2 other games and dint have a problem ( both puchased outside the stadium from scalpers) dont plan on that, but I really want to guarantee that if i have to change plans I can, also that I can eventually get to see italy, a lifelong dream of mine. Also, do you knwo if you can "hold" tickets ont he wbesite or do you have to pay for them instantly? Also, can anyone please give me a rough estimate of what they think the matches will cost relative to WC prices or euro 04 prices? Thanks Nico
