i have to disagree with all the pudits in this country from sky sports gavin hamilton writer of sports socerr and even james richardson in 4.4.2 as they repeatdly knock seria a pulling power in eurppean football.looking at this summer transfers that dosnt seem the case depit them all commenting on the big stars going to la liga and the prem.
but seria a has brought in some great stars roma have got juan 1 of best defenders in germany, cicinho who turned down a move to liverpool, and guily 2 champs legue finals top player he two turned dwn to prem offers including totenham. juve 2 gt top players best playmaker in france tiago despite poor form so far andrade. bt wat used to make serie a the best was that so many teams had wrld class plyers not just big 3/4 like in spain remebr ortaga 4 samp, batigol and rui costa 4 fiorentina , buffon thuram 4 parma.that returned look at smaller teams now atalanta just signd costinha!!! livorno- tavano, tristan ,miccoli jankovic at palermo.and look at premership CHELSEA SIGNED 1 PLAYER the rest on free i mean whos sidwell, ben hiem ,pizzaro alex. Arsnal singd no1. united got an englishman abroad and tevez hu already in prem. non of big tams wantd nani but they singnd him wernt esactly a coup. and in la liga onli 2 teams who made big signings valecia signd evry1 from in spain and zaragoza signd seria a cast off so i cant reli c the big differnce between the leagues. WAT DO YOU ALL THINK????
I agree, but it is maybe because the lack of quality in Europe, excluding Milan. Inter underacheived last season too. Roma were massacred and Chievo not even geeting to the group stages. Compare that to Liverpool getting to the final, Man Utd getting to the semis as did Chelsea. Plus, the lack of big money in Serie A must contribute. With teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and even Atletico Madrid and Villareal getting big money. Plus Man U, Chelsea, liverpool, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Man City with new owners in the last few years, plus Boro, Arsenal, Everton and even West Ham getting big money signings in the summer. Plus the mass exodus of Italians going abroad must not help
yes i agree because of money. however with the big clubs becoming more succesfull hopefuly that will booast revenue from the champs legue. it was a shame for roma last yr becoz they beat lyon valencia and even man utd and then in 1 game suffered from lack of inexperrience and didnt no how to defend a lead whn there only tactic is to attack.but this year i can see roma milan inter all in quaters at least and i fink lazio can beat breman and olyimpicos at home 2 qualify. You ALSO GOT REMEMBER an english club not won it for three year but italian spanish have, and it was only four years back italy had three clubs in semis 2 in final a record.but maybe when juve and fiorentina get in and napoli splash the cash we may see that again. italy also has the best player in the world playing in there legue fact!! (he will win world player of year for sure). the esm golden ball winner totti and best goalkeeper in buffon he holds best goalkepper award.
I have to say they dont need them, there is a glut of good young Italian players coming through. We dont want to go down the road the English game has gone ie:to many foreiners, not qualifying for Euro 2008 now having an italian manager.
No im happy we are not bringing in foreign signings
