hey everyone my dads friend works in television and he said that channel 5 ratings were brilliant for the first 4 games but have now declined rapidly. i love italian footie and dont want to lose it again and there are so many members on ere, if we all watched the matches or taped them on a sun then der would be no probs with ratings. so even if the team u support aint playin can we try to watch the matches starting with inter v lazio. am a massive inter fan bt i have watched all milans games this year because i love calcio and dont want to lose the show.
First of all, there's hardly anyone left here. Secondly, even it were brimming full with the most active members it's ever seen, all of us together wouldn't even increment on the overall ratings and thirdly, aren't tv ratings based on so many people who take part in having their tv schedule noted by a table top machine, making the rest of the country's actual watching ineffective? Let alone taping the show being of any use.
Channel five know the deal with how FI's ratings have been. It's not like they have no idea that figure's wouldn't skyrocket over here.
well i dint cum on ere av a lecture i were onli tryin warn u guys and what i know no mata what you say is that if people are watchin a program its popular and if they arnt then its not and if football italiano is not popluar they aint guna carry on paying the 62 million they paid this year.so i was jus sayn udinese and doo wop make sure you watch the game this weekend coz ull be suprised. an am pretty sure whilst there may be other factors involved if no body tunes in to a certain channel at a certain time of the day that program is not goin to get good ratings there definately goin to be bad so what the country have on there tele is effective. and james richardson said on the last gazzetta on bravo that 'things are not looking good if you want the live games to continue make sure you and ur friends tune in.' he aint guna say thet if it makes no difference just make sure u are watchin the games ok!!!!
Mate, I know you mean well and Im happy you want channel 5 to keep football italiano, so do I as I love serie A too. I dont want to try and lecture you or start an argument, but just to clarify, TV ratings in the UK work like this:
"TV ratings are measured by the Broadcasters Audience Research Board (BARB), which bases its figures on a sample 5,100 households. The panel has been chosen to be as representative as possible, with varying geographic location, age, social class and gender."
So channel 5 have no idea what we are watching, unless we are part of that survery.
But i agree with you, lets hope Serie A stays on our screens along with the highlights
