Richard Whiteley Frown

For once a pun in a post on this thread would be entirely appropriate.

Thats sad to hear. I would go around to my grandma's house when i was a kid to watch countdown with her (she was also very generous with biscuits which was a deciding factor for my being there).

RIP.

Thanks for all your messages. She was a great friend and I miss her terribly.

Nice to know she had the nursing staff in her nursing home working to the very end - she called them at 10.00 to say she was thirsty and hungry, so they made her a cup of tea and a sandwich, which she drank/ate - when they went back in 15 minutes later to collect the cup and plate, she had died.

That's the way I want to go, suddenly and with no pain.

Luther Vandross

American soul singer; a name very familiar to those of us who around in the 1980s.

He was only 54, and suffered a stroke two years ago.

Sad for him but his music really did resemble the final syllable of his surname.

They're dropping like flies.

Re: Obie, I posted this news early this morning. Nice to see the beeb has finally acknowledged it. I've been waiting all day for this. He co wrote 'What's Going On' with Marvin Gaye too.

Interesting to see the BBC website editors read the Big Brother Forum.
